anyones thoughts?

Hey everyone.
I am new to this site. A friend referred me and spoke highly of her feedback.

I turned 37 yesterday.

I have been married two years. TTC 1 yr.

Nov 07, DH tested

Nov 07 blood work done p4 - e2 to prove I ovulated

due to age went ahead and saw RE. initial ultrasound to look at Ovaries and all the goodies that go along with that test during April 08 period, 4/3/08

went to regular OB (love her) and she knew about tests but RE said had to do IUI with Clomid so.. I asked my doc and she put me on 50 mg clomid day 5 - 9. She said if in dye test the ovaries had enlarged then needed to inform them I decided to check out the clomid...I had ovulated in past and had great cm, never charted BBT (too hyper) But always had scm...

had the Dye test done on 4/21/08 (um not the best experience in the world)
but

Had ultrasound done on 4/21 check follicles and etc,

Doc told me to start the BD on my cd 14 or with +opk, whichever came first. We bd on 4/26 til today 5/3 and still no +opk.

This would make day cd 20. I have been using pre seed this whole time too cause my cm has been shabby. I usually have +opk and less hostile cm.

I had normal signs of ovulation around day 16 - 18. Hurt to bd, twinges, etc etc. Suspect maybe had O without +opk. Or missed it somehow but tested twice sometimes three times a day. I have wasted $ over the last year with hundreds of tests HPT and OPK's. It doesnt bother $ me but hate the - results always.

Anyways, have had two past preg in 91 and 03 with chosen ending by me!

No real signs of infertility and we bd all the time

I try to not talk about it too much with my man, it makes him squirmish.

I am curious if any of you have become preggers without detecting O on clomid?

I am wishing now I had not taken cause hostile cm and no + opk may be wasted month again.
Should I take clomid again next month or move on to IUI? If IUI then what if no +opk next month.

I know I know to many what if's.

But I am ready to be a mom like most of you and I keep getting two

Any thoughts from someone who has done all the tests like me and on clomid and preseed, oh this month a shot robitussin on three days before day14 and took baby asprin, drank green tea and lots of VINO!

Thanks for listening hope someone can chat with me....:

to you all!

Welcome!

If it were me, I'd not be taking the Clomid at all, since your tests all came back that you had no issues with your system. Especially since you've been pregnant in the past, I wouldn't be looking to Clomid yet at all, unless you discover you're having issues with anovulatory cycles. And there may be some mamas here who can help you out with alternatives to Clomid, I think.

I'd start charting/taking your basal temperature, if I were you, so you'd know when and if you were ovulating. If sex is painful, is it because your cervix is still low? That would mean you're not ovulating right then. If you've had egg white mucus in the past but aren't around the time your doctor thinks you're ovulating, when are you experiencing it?

If not at all, and you're also not having the open, raised cervix, then it sounds like you might not be ovulating or the Clomid is not working properly or something. I would definitely start charting so you can know for sure.

And I seem to recall that a side effect from Clomid is diminished mucus. I could be wrong there. Still, I wouldn't take it until I knew for certain whether I was ovulating without it already, and if so, when. Cervical mucus is not the best indicator, as many things can affect its consistency (taking sinus medications, dairy intake, etc.).

I don't know what "scm" is.

You might want to check out Toni Weschler's Taking Charge of Your Fertility. I believe every woman on the planet should own a copy. It's a wealth of information and can help you figure this out.

Good luck!

I agree with the pp about everything. And DO get that book. It is awesome! Toni (the author) tells success stories about women getting pregnant after charting, due to the fact that women then KNOW for sure around the time they ovulate and can have sex accordingly. For example, if you're assuming that you ovulate on day 14 and have sex around those days, but you really don't ovulate until day 21, you will never get pregnant because you're having sex on the wrong days. Does that make sense?

Anyway, definately look into charting! Best of luck!
