Cotton Velour - a few questions

I don't use my dryer, so I've been using drying racks. I notice some kinds of hemp air-dry really stiff, and others like the hemp fleece stay soft. I wonder if anyone knows how well cotton velour air-dries? I'd like to make some diapers with this material and would like to know.

Also, how absorbent is cotton velour, if used as a doubler?

Thanks in advance

The velour I have has 20% polyester on the backing, so it dries pretty nicely. I know what you mean about air drying things. Some fabrics like terry end up stiff and crispy. I've not had the same problem with my velour.

Velour is fairly absorbent. Not as good as hemp or cotton fleeces I don't think, but it is lovely and soft.

I like cotton velour as an inner, outer, or topper. If I were using it on doublers, for example, I would use a layer or two of hemp fleece and top it with cotton velour to go against baby. It's too pretty and luxe to sandwich inside of something for absorbancy, IMO, and as a cloth pad user, I like to have something between baby's skin and the hemp (b/c I like to have something between MY skin and the hemp!).
