Are you supplementing? What are you taking? - Page 2

Spring Valley Prenatal vitamins. When I hit 25 weeks, I'll probably add red raspberry leaves to help prepare my uterus since this will (hopefully) be a VBAC, so it needs the extra help. I should be taking calcium, but I'm so bad at remembering my prenatals I never remember to take my calcium supplement.

I'm pretty mainstream by MDC standards. :-)

I'm taking:

--a prescription prenatal that has DHA (but when it runs out this week, I'll go back to my Nature's Way prenatal and add Fish Oil)

--calcium supplement

--stool softener a few times a week

I took megadose B-6 lozenges during the first trimester for nausea.

I'm taking Jarrow brand prenatals -For each day you get a packet with 7 pills in it: a fish oil capsule and 6 multis to take in three doses - it's a lot of pills, but I also have the Thorne brand (only 3 a day) and found it doesn't have folic acid or fish oil... so switched to Jarrow.

I've been drinking Traditional Medicinals Pregnancy Tea occasionally (try to have one cup a day) and have bought loose red raspberry leaf and nettle leaves to make tea as well (cheaper and maybe even fresher than buying the bagged Traditional Medicinals!)

For natural tea recipes you can check out the books Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year by Susun Weed and The Natural Pregnancy by Aviva Jill Romm, though you should also check with your midwife or medical practitioner before you start drinking them non-stop!
