Bloody Show Question

I've been contracting steadily since last night. They are getting more intense. But no sign of bloody show.

Question: Do you always get bloody show in labor? Should I just assume I am not in labor if I don't see this sign?

I'm just like a first time mom on this stuff since my DS was breech and overdue and I never went into labor.

Nope. You don't always get bloody show...it really isn't a good determinant of impending/imminent labor.

I've been reading up about this. And apparently you don't always get it, and many women get it in active labour. I didn't get it until I was already having contractions for several hours last time.

Okay, good to know. I was reading the Dr Sears Birth Book and it seemed really vague about. Thanks for the info!

I was 8cm and bulging with Noah before I believed I was in "real" labor because I never had show. And I NEVER had it with that birth. My membranes did not release until I was pushing and I never saw one drop of blood until we cut the cord!

With Izzy, I had show after the membranes went.

Any updates on your progress? I hope your cntx stayed nice and consistent and grew some. Sending you gentle birthing vibes! :

I barely had it and I've never seen a mucus plug!
