We spent the afternoon with a friend and her daughters (5 and 7yrs) recently. One of my 11 mos old twins was sitting in my lap nursing and the other in my friend's lap. The older girls also wanted to sit in our laps so we made room. The girls have always been curious about breastfeeding and I've always encouraged them to watch if they like. The 7 yr old sat with me and DS and of her own accord, took my breast in her hand and encouraged DS to nurse more when he got distracted. It was an incredibly tender moment and I felt so happy that the girls feel that breastfeeding is a beautiful and totally normal activity.

That is a lovely moment. Thank you for sharing

I love it when my nieces wanting kiss my DS' head while he is nursing it makes my heart sore to know that BF is a normal natural thing to them.

Aw that is sweet. My boyfriend gets really excited when he offers our son the boob and he latches. He always proudly exclaims, "YAY! I LATCHED THE BABY!" and it's pretty funny. He is 33 though, not 7. :P
