The low supply comments thread reminded me of this...
Twice now in relation to my using the SNS, I've had people reference the fake boob that the CIA father in Meet the Fockers uses to "nurse" his grandson! The first time I was trying to explain the SNS to some college students I work with (women). The second time was an accidental over-exposure, where one of DH's uncle's accidentally walked into the bedroom when I was hooking up the SNS to feed DD. (It was the uncle's house and bedroom - his wife had given me permission to use it without him knowing.) He was trying to get over the embarrassment of the moment by making a joke, and asked if "that" worked like the thing on Meet the Fockers. I totally understood where he was coming from, but really find the comparison annoying, so I said - no, it's really actually my boob! I guess there's just no cultural reference for supplementing at the breast??
Anyone else had this comparison made?
