OMG Help!

Thread Starter
I have had an achy breast for about a week, my 3rd baby is 4 months old, and my supply is normal. I feel empty often.

I just noticed that on the underside of my nipple, there is a HUGE blister/lump looking thing that is half the size of the (I dont know the termanology for the nipple) the sticking out part of the nipple!!!!

Is there any way to post pictures? (I know how innapropriate breasts are. )

Help!!!!!!

Is it tender? What colour is it? Have you had a fever at all? And the most important question - do you have a breastfeeding supportive doctor or midwife who will know how to deal with whatever it is?

hope you can figure it out and get help to heal soon!

Its the color of the nipple, my whole breast hurts, and I am starting to feel mastitis-y

I am trying LLL....and my midwife is next. I try to stay away from doc's but I'll go if I have to.

I hope that LLL has the answer - they are usually awesome. It may be a clogged duct, or the site of the beginning of mastitis. I hope it isn't an abscess, but it doesn't sound like you have been 'sick enough' to develop an abscess.

Are you at least able to convince your baby to nurse from that side?

Good luck and fast recovery!
