No poo question- using bs, acv, and conditioner

if I'm going to use bs and acv, how do I add conditioner to that routine. Would I use conditioner between the bs and acv? Would I use conditioner last?
My hair is dry, and acv doesn't quite cut it by itself, even if I use very very diluted bs. Also, my scalp itches if it's dry (actually, many things make my scalp itch- shampoo, some conditioners, going to long between washing, etc), and I'm freakin tired of my scalp itching!

I know there are some people that MIX the BS and conditioner.
I just use BS, don't even use ACV- makes my hair too greasy.

Here is what worked for me.

1 small tablespoon of baking soda mixed with 2½ cups of hot water. When the BS is completely dissolved I add 2-4 tablespoons of conditioner (a rather cheap and lightweight conditioner) and shake well. This recipe is for long hair (but not thick hair). I wash 2-3 times and rinse a bit in between. Rinse with ACV: approximately 1:10/12 ratio for dry hair.

I had very dry hair so I would finish with a more expensive treatment/conditioner as you would do after washing with shampoo. I do it after ACV rinse, but you could do a final ACV rinse but then you should use a very mild rinse - no more than 1:12.

I don't think it matters that much if you use the ACV before or after conditioner as long as you don't use too much.

BTW: Heavy oiling has had a great effect on my hair too. I did take a lot of testing until I found the oil best suited to treat my hair. Macadamia, coconut, sesame, mango and murum murum butter. A tiny bit of shea butter is great for dry ends too.

HTH.

If I'm going to use conditioner, I use it last.

I also use it only on the long ends of my hair, not near my scalp.

So you can rinse BS with just plain water? From all the nopoo threads I read on here I thought you needed ACV.

Don't some people use honey and EOs? How do they fit in?

a tiny dab of coconut oil in your palm added to the ends of your hair helps if you need it. but don't do this everyday, it will weigh your hair down.

When I tried just BS and water, my hair really dried out. I need the ACV rinse, but a very dilute solution (1:10-12, like the pp).

When my scalp gets itchy, I use BS and cheap conditioned, mixed about 1:1, and I scrub my scalp with that. Then rinse with ACV/water.

OT - I washed my hair with "real" shampoo this weekend, the kind with 'cones in it. My hair is slippery from the build-up of just one washing. All my hair ties keep falling out. It will probably be several ACV rinses to get it back to natural conditions.
