Hi, I started stims on Saturday. 150 follistim and repronex, baby asprin and prednisone.

How are you feeling? I have broken out in hives. This happened to me last ivf but they were not as concerned as they are now. They are trying to get me some menopur asap.

Good luck tomorrow with your bloodwork.

DM630 - I am soooo sorry I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I wish I could say something to make it better, but at least you know you have a lot of shoulders to cry on.

I'm pretty close on my meds with some of you, I have my hot date with Lupron tomorro (Friday), so hoping to start stims on the 26th, as they want me on the Lupron and BCP's for just about a week together before pulling the BCP's. Woo hoo! I'm happy to be getting started again, but I'm not looking forward to the side effects I dealt with when I had a Lupron/Repronex cycle. Oh well, the things I will gladly put myself through to have that little one of my own show me his/her first smile!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to drop by to cheer everyone on. We are just in a holding pattern after our BFN in Apr/May. I found a new RE who specializes in poor responders/high FSH. We had a phone consult (I will be traveling from Naperville to Peoria to cycle at their clinic) last week and he seems optomisitic that a change in protocol will produce more, higher quality eggs. He thinks the med protocol i was on last time was not strong enough and the wrond choice of meds for a huigh fsh/projecyed poor responder. So we are optomistic that ivf #2 will give us better results, and if not then we will move on to donor eggs and prob start the adoption process. We prob won't be cycling until later on in the year b/c we are self pay and are still paying off the last cycle.

But i am here lurking, sending you all babydust!

Well I officially started Stimming on Wed. I'm doing 6 shots a day for a total of 300iu Gonal-F and 150 IU Repronex and 40 units (or .4) of Lupron. So far so good. I found out the other day (not sure if I posted this or not) that I dont have to do the PIO shots, bc my Dr is using Endometrium(sp) vaginal suppositories. I'm soooooooo happy about that, so this whole cycle I only have to do ONE IM shot (my HCG) WOOOO HOOOO!!!! Good Luck to everyone this cycle!

I'll be doing Endometrium also. I was planning on doing the PIO because I personally prefer a shot that's over quickly vs. the ongoing leak. My nurse mentioned the Endometrium is pretty leak free aside from maybe a little dry powdery discharge. That I can tolerate DH is definitely relieved to be off shot duty

Kristin - that's great you've gotten a second opinion. It sounds very encouraging! I imagine the time will fly pretty quickly and before you know it you'll be on round 2

Anxiety struck this morning when I realized that somehow I thought I was supposed to do 2 lupron shots 12 hours apart and then realized it was just one . Guess it's good I realized it now before I've started. I feel like I have so many things to remember (vits, thyroid med, adrenal meds, IVF meds, etc.) - I'm worried I'm going to forget something. I think I'll make up a daily checklist - one for the morning and one for the evening - to make sure I stay on track.

Wow I am completely jealous ! The pio shots just wear me down (I do not like them). You are soooo lucky.

Don't get too jealous just yet. I just heard from someone on another forum that she couldn't stand the Endometrium because of the goo. We'll see. If it's that bad, I'll switch back to PIO in a heartbeat.

Hey Aly!!! How are your stims going? Do you have a u/s this weekend? I started stims at 10pm Tues night, so we are really close! Looks like we are cycle buddies!!!

As for my cycle--I think all is going pretty well as side effects are concerned...I was feeling crampy and a bit "full" in the ovary-ish area even on day 2! I have a habit of UNDER-responding so I thought this was a good sign......but it makes me wonder how my sides will be feeling come late next week! I also got a headache, took motrin, but the doc told me not to take it anymore b/c it can interefere w/ stims...so no more of that....they said if the ovary pain becomes too intense, I should call and they'll hook me up with vicodin...but no motrin....party at my house next week! (LOL)



My day 3 E2 (after only 2 doses) was 62, and they thought that was a bit low, so increased my follistim, I have another bw tomorrow, and will do a u/s as well, so hopefully we'll see something encouraging!!!!

kristinc - How exciting to be working with such a great re. I may find a new re if this ivf does not yield better results than my last. So far my egg quality has been poor.

Lisag - I hope the leakage/goo is tolerable. I was on crinone after an iui and that to me was great. There was a little discharge but I would take the crinone any day over pio shots. The pio shots are totally doable (keeping your mind on the prize) but sometimes they do hurt.

I was in for an ultrasound and bloodwork today. Everything seems right on track. My right ovary has a lot more follicles than the left. The largest was 18 and the smallest 11. I am praying that my egg quality is way better than my last ivf :. While looking at the screen in my head I was talking to my follicles giving them lots of praise and encouragement. At least it made me feel better.

My hives are better. I stopped the Repronex yesterday and started Menopur instead. My nurse thinks since I have been on that from the start of stims that I have just had a strong allergic reaction to it.

So sorry if I missed anyone, just going as far as this page. I am trying to stay positive, positive, positive this cycle. Even though it is crazy and chaotic for me. I booked a vacation for us in Door County. So we'll be gone for my beta! I think I did it on purpose. To keep my mind off of it .

Only sharing this because the first time I did IVF I had no idea and it got really bad (trust me, you do not want to have constipation issues and ovaries the size of grapefruits at the same time). Stay on top of your fiber and water intake ladies!

Oh I will completely back you up on this one. I wish someone had told me how constipated I would get after my er. Way tmi coming - I thought I was going to pass out on the potty it was sooooo aweful. Ladies keep up on the fiber and water believe us

I have u/s and bw tomorrow...I feel pretty tender on the right, not much on the left, and like you I tend to get better results from my right ovary in all my stims....last 2 cycles were repronex, but I am doing menopur (also follistim both times and this cycle) instead this time, so hopefully my follies will be more coorperative--maybe we'll have some good news tomorrow!

YAY for cycle buddies!! Stims are going GREAT!! I wont have my next u/s until Monday. I forgot to get my E2 numbers from her, but you can bet i'll ask for all of them on Monday. The lupron is giving me a little bit of a headache, but nothing terrible. I'm not feeling anything in my ovaries yet. I usually respond REALLY well though, so I'm interested to see what my u/s looks like on Monday. I'll be sure to update when I hear something.

Day 3 of stims:
300iu Gonal-F
150iu Repronex (which is leaving huge red welts on my stomach)
20 (or .2) Lupron

Hey--I just wanted to let you guys in on a FREE download of a guided imagery meditation....I LOVE LOVE LOVE her imagery cd's...I have many of them and my favorite that I used during my 1st (successful) IVF was the "General Wellness" one, but they are all great, and she is offering a free 15 minute download of the "RELIEVE STRESS" meditation....and who doesn't need that when cycling!!!!!



I also listened to the "healthy pregnancy" cd right after transfer and t/o the 2ww, b/c it had great imagery on implantation and providing protection and nourishment to a developing embryo.....

Seedlings - my family used to vacation in Door County when I was growing up. I have many fond memories of that place! Especially cherry pie and fish boils - yum! And the restaurant with the goats on the roof

Good to know about the constipation. Enlarged ovaries and stuck colon sounds like a wicked combination.

My meds arrived safe and sound today. Have a bit of panic when I saw the note that the driver wouldn't leave the package without my signature, even though I had left a note to please leave it with the office down the hall : Ah well, alls well that ends well and everything is accounted for and my gonal f is safely refrigerated.

Just a word to the wise about the Endometrium - sticker shock ! 40 freakin' tabs cost us $109 with our copay. I can get a supply of PIO for $15, so looks like when this runs out we'll be changing back to the shots. Never even thought to ask about the difference in price.

Glad to hear people are doing well on their stims.

Any suggestions for doing Lupron in the am vs. pm? Apparently I have a choice. Thought I might do pm so in case I'm running late in the morning, so I'm not rushed.

I am doing IVF at Fertility Center of New England Portsmouth office, with Dr. Hill. My friends sister went to Dartmouth and had 3 successful IVF cycles. Not sure who her doctor was.
