Can You Sew Wall Paper?

I picked up some wall paper at a store that is closing and thought it would be cute to make favor bags out of. Can you sew wall paper with a machine? Would it cause any problems with the machine?

I have a friend that is so creative and she sews paper (cardstock). She actually did this to make a really cute baby announcement. I didn't ask her if it caused any problems but I know she has done it more than once and I'm sure she wouldn't do it if it caused a problem.

I've sewn cardstok and made 10 ish page books out of copy paper, never had any problems.

Be sure to use a sharp needle, and have a new one on hand for when you switch back to fabric.
