Pediatrician visit....

I think I have finally found one that will work with me and my "oddities" I none the less hovered for the diaper examination area, I am pretty sure he was going to retract but I said please don't just in time and he didn't. (BTW this is crazy I have to protect my son like that but that's another post). He did say it is very tight and will cause him problems.... what does this mean? Is he wrong? He didn't say anything more about it but that seems his style.... input appreciated.

He's wrong. I'd keep looking for someone more knowledgeable.

That sounds like complete nonsense. How did he know that it was "tight" if he didn't pull it or fiddle with it? Nobody should do that. If your son can pee normally, it's not too tight.

It's a shame you have to struggle with this!

How did he know it was too tight? Anyway I say that's BS. We shouldn't have to watch our sons' genitals like hawks every time we take them to the doctor, it's ridiculous.:

It means he doesn't know what he is talking about. Intact boys can have tight nonretractable foreskins until at least 11, the average age for being able to retract. Some can do it earlier and some later. As long as he can urinate with no problem then there really is no problem. IF and this is a long shot IF (less than 1% I think) he is not fully retractable by mid teens or so a steroid cream can be prescribed which resolves 90% of those cases. For purposes of comparison the 'medical' circumcision rate in a place like Sweden is on the order of 1 in 20000. Check out this link for more info and the Paul Fleiss article. If you have more questions just ask.
