i've been trying to decide what to switch to for my HE front loading machine... we'd been using ecover, which i loved, but i'm liking it less lately....

i thought about Dr B's, but i cant find for sure if it's too sudsy....

then i found charlie's soap, and it sounds intriguing! i cant find a review of it here, though....

anyone use it?

i have very very very sensitive skin, and am VERY sensitive to smells....

Have you tried country save? They have an HE formula. We have sensitive skin in our house and we love it. It is cheap too.

We use Charlie's as our son has sensitive skin and I heard it was very gentle. Seems to work well, the only thing I have to do is pre-treat stains because it doesn't work too well on those.

I actually posted last night with a question about charlies soap- I'm having troubles with it leaving white streaks/spots on our clothes. I also find that I have to pretreat stains because they don't always come out very well. To address your question about sensitivity: it has no smell and my DS with his sensitive skin doesn't seem to mind it. I would just hesitate to recommend it due to the problem that I'm having lately.
I've used Allen's Naturally in the past and have been fairly pleased- they make a powder and a liquid (which lasts us about 6 months- maybe more and I do a fair amount of laundry).

I just started using it. As in yesterday. So I don't have a review just yet, but I'm wondering what others use to pre-treat stains.

I've been using Charlie's for about 8 months now and I really like it. I always pre-treated stains anyway, so I don't really see that as an issue. I have had no issues with residue or anything left on the clothes and I feel like it's a really great value. I used to always just buy what was on sale because I didn't particularly like any brand better than another, but I will not buy anything else now.

I've been using Charlie's for about a year now. I really like it! I do have to pre-treat stains to get them out, but other than that, it works great, no smell and my clothes are soft!

Another Charlie's family here.

It gets all our clothes clean except I do have to pre-treat stains on my work clothes (I work in a restaurant and we wear white from head to toe).

Sometimes I wonder if people realize that an extra-large load might need more than one scoop? It says to use one scoop for a load, but I think that means a medium-sized load. I have a large capacity washer, and if it's a full load I use two scoops.

I also must add that the washer that came with our house had a funky smell in it when we moved in. Kind of like a sour smell, but the clothes never smelled sour. I tried running a cycle with bleach, one with vinegar, baking soda, etc., to no avail. After our first wash with Charlie's soap, the smell was gone.

My husband has sensitive skin and it doesn't bother him at all.

We have been using charlie's powdered and liquid for almost two years now.

We have a 3-4 year old front loader and for regular laundry I use:

Powder 1/2 tablespoon per load -- Liquid one capful per load (just under 2 tsp)

I love it!
