Ok, I am not a coupon user normally but today I used coupons - Page 2

Unfortunately there's no CVS in my area, no SuperTarget, and definitely no double coupons. I live in expensive Bay Area California... can this still work for me?

Yeah I started about a week and a half ago too. The freebees are exciting but honestly I am not the " toiletry" hog its my dh and 13 yr old. I don't know how it will pan out because I try not to buy too much packaged food in general however with our $ situation we will probably eat anything.

Yes, it can still work for you! If you go to hotcouponworld.com, under the section titled "grocery stores" go in and look for your local stores, under "national chain stores" look for the stores in your area, and I'm guessing you have a RiteAid and a Walgreen's which both have online rebate programs.

Start investigating your large metro papers to see which ones carry the best and most coupons, and start gathering and collecting them. Ask your family and friends for their extras.

Let's boast a bit and hopefully post upcoming sales to help each other out!

When I can get free drugstore-type items, I buy them and then donate them to the local womens centre or food bank. They both give out personal care items to women in need. I can't afford to donate to charity at this point in my life, but I can contribute however possible!

I didn't make it to walgreens

I planned to hit the fry's market for grocery sales and then walgreens. I had all my coupons in the game card holder and planned out my purchases but my little guy had a meltdown and crashed in the grocery cart so tomorrow I will tell you my buys from walgreens.

BUT

I only bought sale items at the market today (except bananas and applesauce). I looked at the sales ads and planned my week menu around it. This store uses a store savings card. I only used 2 of my coupons here which were $4.80 worth but I spent $44.30 and saved $43.60 by just getting sale items. I wanted to do the pantry challenge this month but honestly we can't seem to keep enough food in the house without having to go to the market here and there. I work next to the market and a walmart so it is easier to buy produce, milk, bread, and such as I need it so it is fresh.

I am a total coupon addict. I get seriously ticked off when my mailman brings my sales ads on Friday instead of Thursday.

Yesterday, I got $76 worth of groceries for $14, and I should have had a $10 coupon print out. It didn't, so I have an email into customer service for that.

I am also addicted to CVS. Oh the glories of free stuff!!

ok yesterday was grocery night and my husband saved us $16 in coupons. A couple of boxes of kashi cereal for free. We had a $2 coupon and they were on sale for 2 bucks!!

walgreens

I think CVS is better but the nearest one is 25 min away. I bought $21.64 of items and spent $12.94. So I saved $8.70 in coupons. I bought a bottle of bleach, 5 cans of soup, coffee, 2 rolls of foil, a 6pk. mini cans of tomato sauce. Oh yeah almost forgot I got a pkg of pads for dd for free after rebate.

Ah, I wish we had that sale here... I have some Kashi coupons!

Where did you find Kashi coupons? That I would use!

I still can't wrap my head around CVSing, but I did score some free whole wheat pasta and .19 pasta sauce at Harris Teeter this week.

I don't bother with coupons, except in the rare cases like a couple days ago when Fred Meyers had $1 coupons off one tube of Tom's of Maine toothpaste. We don't use fluoride, or deodorants/antiperspirants with aluminum or lots of perfume, or a lot of other junk that coupons are for, so I was happy to find the Tom's not only on sale, but got an extra $1 off, and was allowed to use a coupon on all 4 tubes.

Go to mambosprouts.com and request their coupon booklet to be mailed to you. They have a variety of natural foods and HBA coupons that they mail out 4 times a year. I think you might be able to print out some of the coupons on their website too (I've been without a printer for 9 months : so I haven't been able to use that feature).

Ah, how I miss Harris Teeter. Back when I still lived near one, I was known by the cashiers as "the lady with the baby and all the coupons". I once got an entire cart of groceries for $11. It only happened once, but it was great.

I am really bummin that I cannot CVS, it sounds like the bomb for personal care products, I live in the middle of nowhere. I do have a Rite Aid that is about 30 miles away, and I was just looking at their weekly flier and was sad because I just went to the town it's in yesterday and now there are a bunch of good sales, honestly it would almost be worth it to go there just to buy toilet paper. So are there ways for me to save money there? I know it's not CVS, there aren't any of those anywhere near me.

That said I have been able to print coupon now and my store will take ones from the computer so that makes me happy. Yesterday I did get a free pack of razors, and some money off of some things. I am going to do more couponing.

worth it for me?

I got them off of moneysavingmom.com go to the printable coupons section. I think you can print it up twice.

I was looking at what people buy with their CVS. I don't know if it would save me money. I make my own clothes deteregent (costs about 71 cents per 96 loads). I don't buy canned soup. I don't use fabric softner. Maybe for the shampoo? My husband usually buys the softsoap a huge one for 1.50. My dad gets us toothpaste for free.

If I am doing all this would it help me? here are things I might buy there.

toothbrushes? ( I can normally get two for a buck)
toilet paper Yes.
wipes...yes
free photos
hair conditioner yet
maybe tylenol

Do you think it's worth it for me?

Like I said before I don't have a CVS near me, but we do have a Dollar Tree and honestly I buy all our toothbrushes there, sometimes I find good makeup there for a buck. I just realized that they have a nice selection of Kleenex tissue and a ton of other personal items that are mega cheap. I do wish that I could do the CVS thing. I still am wondering if anyone has any Rite Aid ideas?
