I went in for my biophysical profile today. LO looks great got a 8/8 BUT
tech says she weighs 10.1 lbs!!!! She was also giggling with the other tech and speaking in Russian. When I asked what was so funny she said "baby has a big round head"

Geezzz...I am totally freaking out. How the heck am I going to squeeze this baby out?

Head plates squish and fat squishes, too - right? You can do it!

Ultrasounds can be off 2 pounds... so take it all with a grain of salt: Plus:

Momma's are stretchy and babies are squishy..

its a great montra... keep saying it ~ it'll start to sink in!
Happy birthing momma!!

Not in your DDC, but assuming your baby is actually 10# (and remember, U/S's are notorious for over-estimating, oftentimes by 2#), your body is designed to birth a baby! I'm not a huge person - before my 3rd pregnancy, I was 128 and barely 5'4". My son was 10#3 (15" head). My 4th was 9#2. Both born at home.

I'm expecting a big baby this time, too. Honestly, they're much less fragile! LOL! You can do it!

I've heard that bigger babies are actually easier because there is more fat to cushion them

You can do it mama!!! Good luck and don't worry about the weight. It can be off and even if it's not, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

With my 3rd baby I had an ultrasound on a Tuesday that said she was 7 pounds 3 oz....well she was born on Friday and was 6 pounds 3 oz....so either she was on a major diet or ultrasounds are off...you can place a bet on which was true.

Crashing your DDC, sorry. My 10 lb. baby was my easiest, fastest birth.

Pushed my 10lb2oz squishy boy out in maybe 5 pushes with barely a skid mark and I'm not a huge person. No different and not any harder or any more painful than pushing out my 7lb13oz baby. Your body makes what it can handle and you just have to trust it! And I would bet almost anything that the u/s is off anyway.....they usually are. I keep seeing women being told their babies are 9 or 10lbs and out comes a 7 or 8lber.

Thanx mama's! You all always know just the way to make me feel better ;-)

Good luck, mama! I used to be scared of a 10 pounder, but after pushing out an almost-9 pounder sideways, I figure a properly positioned 10 pounder would be easy.
