Finn has settled right in to our family already.
When we picked him up from the airport he was sooooo scared.
Poor little guy (and I do mean little -- he's the same size as my purse, lol) was just shaking and scared. We opened the kennel door and let him come to us. I carried him out of the airport and across the parking lot to some grass. We let him down and he peed
and then romped for a few minutes. When we got into the vehicle he started shaking again, so I just cuddled him close and he calmed right down. He is SOOOOO snuggly! He slept most of the way home, curled up in my arms.
Coming back across the border with him was fine -- the guard barely glanced at the vet papers. BUT he kept asking how much we paid for Finn -- I don't think he believed us when we said he was free. He kept asking the same question in different ways -- "So, what's a dog like that worth?" "How much did you pay for the dog?" "How much was she selling them for?" I was starting to get worried that we were going to get pulled over and searched.
Finally he let us go, and Nate and I both breathed a big sigh of relief.
The kids were sooooo excited when they saw him yesterday. I missed the look on dd#2's face when she spotted him in dh's arms, but dh says it lit up like 1000 times brighter than he's ever seen it before...
She also keeps thanking me over and over for getting a dog...
Dd#3 keeps saying that she wished for a dog, and we made her wish come true... it's so sweet.
Ds loves him and wants Finn to sleep in his room. Now if I can just keep him out of the water dish we'll be set!
Dd#1 is having a hard time sharing him. She also keeps trying to give me tips on dog care....
I woke up this morning to a cold puppy nose on my shoulder... Nate brought him into bed with us last night. He said that Finn was whimpering and he thought he must be lonely...
Then later Nate admitted that Finn stopped whimpering about 20 minutes before he came to bed.
I took some pics and video -- I'll post it later. We're going to the pet store now.
