My thread is up, but the answer is no

I was told that MDC isn't interested in turning the Due Date Clubs into Born In Clubs, so if we want to stay together as a group, we'll either have to make a tribe thread in Life With A Babe, or go to an off-site forum.

BOOO! That stinks.

Your suggestion makes a lot of sense and the reply about there being too many mini communities that eventually "have to join the rest of us" is just...DUMB.

Personally I cannot find anything in the life with a babe forum with everything and everyone under the sun thrown in together.

Not in your DDC but I totally get what you mean. What's so wrong with a "mini community" anyways? That's why I actually am on Babycenter a bit more these days...their DDC's stay around forever and it's nice to have that kinship with all these other women that I've known since the very beginning of pregnancy (even though I am birth board wacko over there with all my "weird" NP/AP ideas lol).

my last ddc formed a yahoo group so we could talk privately etc but the majority of them stayed on LWB... someone just starts a thread for that month and everyone replies to it. You really have to keep up on reading posts or otherwise you get lost easily. It took a little getting used to (one thread vs the many threads we have here now)but it eventually got easier. and right now I'm not on their thread that much but it's no big deal to pop in and say hi every so often.

they dont have the staff to keep up with it? ILL BE STAFF lol.
i'll take the April BIC and be the moderator.

seriously.

Who wants to start the yahoo group? I'll do it later tonight if nobody else does.

Please do, I'd really like to keep in touch with everyone. I don't have time to start a yahoogroup right now as the older 2 are bouncing off the walls :

The lingering existence of this thread is proof of the statement that the current mod staff don't have/make time to police the DDCs. If they did, this thread would have been deleted within moments and a warning likely issued for discussing moderator decisions in the public forum.

That bit about 'they have to come out some time!!11!" bothers me too.

Ok, just to make sure we don't violate the User Agreement:

Criticizing MDC moderators and administrative decisions isn't allowed. You can add your opinion to my thread in Q&S, but you'll want to edit out the criticisms in your posts here if you don't want to get a warning from the mods.

All right, now that that is out of the way... Didn't someone already set up a potential board for the DDC? I'll look to see if I can find it... It was set up to allow threads, just like we're used to, and I'd much prefer that to a Yahoo group. Someone recommended proboards.com to me, but I haven't checked it out yet.

Well, the thread itself isn't a UA violation, just some of the posts. So, if we edit out the criticisms, we'll be ok.

Kool-aid anyone?

I am a member of another board that uses www.armbell.com. I really like it and think it's very user friendly. I'd be willing to start it up, but don't know when I'll have time.

Here is our April 2008 DDC forum that was created by OnlyAngil:

http://ddcapril2008.friendhood.net/index.htm

So go and register and bookmark that page!!!

(It uses the same forum platform, phpBB, as Armbell.com, suggested by amaayeh.)

Haha, Amanda. Maybe I've been working on family history too much, using PAF too much, but when I read that I thought "born in covenant... what the crap is she talking about?"

I'm not sure either but I really, really love kool-aid! It's border line crazy about the stuff. Black Cherry is my favorite

I went over and registered, even though I don't post much

hehe I gotcha

But I do love this board in general and it obviously works .. sometimes it does feel a little weird though

Anyway I only dug this up to see if we had had any success getting a BIC. Darn. Did anyone decide to start a yahoo group, or was everyone going to the off-site? I still sorta vote for yahoo since I already use those.. I know I'll lose track of another forum.....
