Since we had our first child 5 years ago we quit all savings and 401k. I will go back to work in the future.....it looks like farther out than I expected, but that's not the end of the world.
Dh doesn't waste a lot of money (no expensive hobbies, no vacations), but he piddles away $20 here and there.....nothing major, but I feel that we should be trying to save something!! Also, dh doesn't worry about retirement at all, which I think is problemsome bc he has no pension program (his dad does).
Costs have certainly been rising---gas, heating, food etc.
Anyways, is your dh on board? Did you do anything to convince him? I don't even know who Dave Ramsey is, but would one of his cd's help convince him?
