Peer group for TV free kids?

Our family has been TV free for a quite a few years. It feels natural to us.

A few days ago, however, I asked my 9yo daughter if she knew any other TV free children. She said no. I then realized that I do not know any other TV free families either. Surprised, I went online to see if there were sites dedicated to community building for TV free kids. I haven't found any yet. The only TV free child I've come across in media is the character Leslie Burke in Katherine Paterson's novel "Bridge to Terabithia."

Anybody know of any organizations or groups dedicated to providing community to TV free kids?

As far as I know -- here at MDC is the only place that I have found anyhow.

We are lucky to have a small-ish community of peers of DS who are also TV-free or at least limited and understanding of our choices.

I'd love to know if anyone else has found another virtual community like this too?

Maybe Waldorf schools????

We are a Waldorf family and while we do meet the occasional other family that is TV free they usually allow DVDs and the like. In fact, my daughter has been exposed to more TV/movie characters in her last year at school that the total of the rest of her life.

I do think that most of our Waldorf friends do aim to have as little media as they feel they can and they certainly have a positive attitude towards our screen free (for my daughter) lifestyle which makes a difference.

I have never found a community that is specifically TV free though.
