early labor? these are my symptoms (possible tmi)

1. woke up this morning, haven't stopped peeing since. like not even a little. i'm wearing a doubled up pad (cloth pads!) and have had to change it about once an hour...sometimes they're just wet, and sometimes i feel a little pop out, like a bubble, but wet. unfortunately (and this is sad) i can't tell if its coming from my urethra or vagina and it has no smell.

2. small/not really all that painful lower uterine cramps ranging everywhere from every ten minutes to every half hour.

3. thigh and back pain.

i mean, could it be labor? if so it's very mild right now...or not nearly as bad as i expected it to be.

but if it is labor i've gotta go pick up my husband at work (I took the car to get to the laundromat today). i've gotta pick him up before it becomes dangerous for me to drive. kwim?

so all you been there done that momma's, does this sound labor to you?

does sound a bit amniotic fluidish.

and a bit early laborish.

Probably a good idea to pick hubby up.

It could be, but it could be pre-labory stuff too. I do know what you mean about needing to pick up your DH.

DP & I are sharing a car too

If you're going through a pad an hour, I really do think your water has broken (happened to me)!

well i just called the midwife and while i was standing there (we don't have a cordless) a whole bunch came out...

but i'm worried this is just pee...
i'll be so embarassed if this is just pee.

but i'm going to pick up hubby and we're going to see the mw anyway.

if this is labor i'm only half excited...baby hasn't turned yet

You'd have to be drinking a LOT to have THAT much pee.

lol, it does sound very amniotic fluidy to me too. I don't think I would soak through that many pads with pee. And if it was pee then I'd be really irritated thinking something else must be wrong, so I'd go get checked out anyway.

My vote: pick up dh before your labor picks up. Your mw should be able to test that fluid too, can rub some paper right on the pad and see if it's your water or not. Maybe you can ask to do that before you get dh if you still feel uncertain.

Keep us posted!!! ELV to you!

My water has never broke but it sounds like fluid to me!

Keep us posted!

ELV coming your way.

I read a tip to check if it was pee or not is to hold the pad under a hairdryer on hot. If it is pee it will bring out the amonia smell.

If the fluid is colorless and odorless it's probably amniotic fluid. Check for the amonia smell to be sure.

Good luck!

Oh hon, I bet that is your water leaking all over you. Have you ever had this happen to you before? I would pick up your Dh or at least get him the car so he can drive if labor is imminent. Sending you gentle birthing vibes! :

Sounds like something is happening to me!

Sounds early labor-ish to me, not that I'd know.... I think you made the right choice to pick up your DH and head to the MW. Hope all's well!!

That sounds just like amniotic fluid. When mine broke it took a long time to figure it out because it was such a small leak. But then, all of a sudden (I was standing in a doorway talking to my secretary), a whole bunch gushed out and I knew. Then every time I'd have a little cramp some more would come out.

Good luck to you!

Remember--babies can turn during labor. They want to find the easiest way out.
