Milkshare question.

Does anyone know- is the milkshare yahoo group ran by milkshare.birthingforlife.com?
Also, how long does it take to get approved on the Milkshare site? I signed up weeks ago, but I don;t want to retry if they are just running slow.

Yes, same people.
I know one of the owners was in Africa for 6 months, she is a midwife. But there is someone else who should be taking care of it. I'd say try again, or email someone directly to ask what is going on.

I also see a phone number on the MilkShare website-- 508-668-4247-- haven't tried it yet but I plan to, as I am hoping to become a grateful recipient of donor milk as soon as possible for our little one.

If anyone has any additional ideas on this topic (how to connect with donors) please post. Thank you!

MilkShare update

I just spoke with Kelly of MilkShare-- the number is actually 508-429-6663-- not the number I posted the other day, sorry. Anyway she said it just takes a couple of weeks (or a bit more or sometimes less!) to be added to the email group/list of donors and recipients, since she and the other woman who voluntarily run MilkShare are quite quite busy.... just thought I'd pass thar info along...

Ok, thanks. I guess I'll wait a bit more. I'm just excited, lol.

LeighB,
I signed up to become a milk donor and never got a response. My workind assumption is that if you get a reply they simply direct you to their Yahoo chat/support group which I joined directly but never posted on. Once I started browsing there I realized the need was overwhelming and since I was looking for a local recipient (to avoid shipping) and since I was afraid of being inundated through the MilkShare Yahoo group I simply posted on my MDC geographic tribe.

I got lucky and found a low supply mom. I filled out the questionnaire that I got from the MilkShare site and she paid for the recommended blood tests.

I think it's important to follow MilkShare's screeing guidelines for everone's peace of mind.
