Making the switch to Family Cloth

I am cutting up old flannel flat diapers and we are making the switch to cloth toilet paper. We are planning to start out using cloth for pee only, and see how that works.

Who else uses cloth toilet paper?

Any tips?

Thanks!

We have done the same. I cut up an old flannel crib sheet and my dd and I use it, just for urine so far. In a few months I will be doing loads of cloth diapers and at that time I will likely be using the family cloth for #2 as well. I really, really love how little toilet paper we are going through now! And it's way more comfortable and absorbent to use than paper.

I started cloth toilet paper about a week and a half ago. I ended up buying several packages of baby washcloths at Target. I fold it in fourths, wet it, squeeze out the water and use that. We're cd'ing, so I toss them in the diaper pail up in dh and my bathroom. I also bought a small step can (Simple Human from Target) and will buy a small wet bag to line it and put it in the main bathroom.

I haven't started using it for the boys yet but they will and I think dh will too.

I can't count in my head apparently, because I bought twice as many packages of washcloths than I meant to. I can't return them because I don't have the receipt. I don't know what else I can use them for.

So far I am loving cloth!!

It's been going well in our house, aside from a few "default" droppings of the cloth into the toilet . I'm thinking we may switch over entirely sometime soon.

I'm planning on switching this week! I bought some cloth baby wipes off etsy a while back, but we were in the process of selling our house and moving, and that's not something I wanted out while we were showing the house! lol...
I think we'll just be using it for pee too though.

About the time my son started PLing I heard about family cloth for the first time. That day I moved a small stack of 6x6" single or double layer wipes into each bathroom, and I have loved wiping ever since (lol). I'll wet them with either wipe solution or water sometimes, but usually just wipe dry and throw them in the laundry basket (under a shirt or something, b/c I don't want to stare at them every time I'm in the bathroom!) and wash with the rest of my laundry. When my new baby is born, I'll definitely have to cut more wipes for him because I am a complete convert to family cloth and our current stash won't be enough for us both. My H will NEVER convert, but that's ok, as long as he reminds me to buy TP every few months, which is how long it takes us to run out now.

we use cloth (old diapers, flannel scraps etc) for pees (have been for about a year). We have a bucket next to the toilet that they go in and when the bucket gets full we throw it in the wash. for poos we wash with water (we have a *buttsprayer* now, used also for spraying off baby poos from diapers) and then dry with a cloth. these also go in the bucket. It never gets stinky or gross or anything like that. I've done this in a house with 7 people for 6 months and 5 people for another 6. Everyone is healthy happy and clean. and NO MORE TP!!! that's my favourite thing ever (well,.... after my baby and countless other things. )
