...is it all of a sudden OK for strange men to comment on my appearance!?!?!

If a man in a store or whatever said "Lookin' good, mama!" before I was pregnant, they would be total pervs. Now, though, for some reason men say things like this and comment on my body all the time and it's supposed to be OK!?

What is UP with THAT!?

Luckily, nobody's touched my belly yet (lucky for them, that is, that they've avoided my fury!). Comments from women would not bother me, but I don't think my body should be fair game for comments from men just because I'm pregnant.

Sorry, it just kind of cheeses me off!

Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I so know what you mean. When I was pregnant with Steph, some guy I didn't know stared at my belly and asked me if I liked sex more now. I get the comments mostly now about how enormous I am and how I must be having twins or triplets. I've tried explaining that I just get big and that doesn't mean anything. I won't even be 12 weeks till Saturday. Anyway, I know what you mean.

Yeah, that is creepy. Unless I know you, don't tell me I look hot. That's not acceptable when I'm not pregnant, so it's certainly not when I am. Maybe some guys think they're doing us a favor by telling us we look good b/c they think we may be self-conscious about our appearance now, whether or not we actually are
However, if you are my husband or perhaps a non-creepy close male friend of mine, go ahead and tell me how good I look

It is strange that this happens. When I was pg with Liam at my job of all places I dealt with all sorts of comments, exceptionally rude ones about birds (swallows) and I kept thinking how would you like someone talking to your wife or daughter like that - pigs. Or sometimes you notice guys looking at you in the car and when you get out and they see the belly (or unload the rest of the kids!), or are looking at you from the back and you turn around and it's like OMG she's pregnant and I was "looking"

I haven't gotten any remarks from men (or women, for that matter) - that's totally creepy. I did however have a homeless woman looking for money rub my belly and put her face on it...quite an experience.

Now I can tell my child he/she had an up close and personal encounter with a drunk and homeless woman as well as experiencing a couple of earthquakes.

Seems like western culture has gotten men (and women) to believe that being pg is horrible, your bloated, heartburn, achy body, you get fat, your cloths don't fit... your face puffs up...everything is terrible. So they feel they need to comment on the fact that pg women can and do look alright.

I so wish the myth of pregnancy would perish.

i never had anything like that happen from men and if that did ever happen i think i would tell him off for being disrespectful to women and he should not be treating women that way at all

wow some men just need a good slap in the face

i did have some women walk up to me yesterday and tell me she is a spirtalist and got a strong reading about me and my kids and iam not into that at all and i just told her thanks but noo thanks i dont have money for the reading but then later i saw she was stoping everyone to give them readings lol

I've had people tell me I look great, yada, yada, yada. And alot of people seem to want to rub my tummy but I give them the *back the h3ll up look* and is well . I don't need folks rubbing their negative vibes off on my child.

I've had several people ask if sex was better and I have told with *with a complete attitude* that that isn't their business and if they want to know, they should knock someone up and find out. I hate that! And it's always men that ask that question.

LOL you guys!

I was at the store, and the cashier (male) said to me, "Looks like someone's got a baby bump!"

Boy, I was not in the mood. I was like "No SH*T." I seriously just wanted to say, "Looks like someone's got a beer gut and is going bald!" Or, even better, "Looks like someone's a middle aged dude bagging groceries!"


It could be worse.. I was with one of my aunts when some dude came up to her when she wasn't pregnant and said, "Congratulations!" She said, "For what?"... "For the baby on the way!" I swear she was ready to punch that guy right in the face.

I got hit on a lot when I was pregnant with my first. Not so much this time, but then again, I don't get out much. Not that I mind...it's nice to not hear lewd comments five times a day from strangers. Especially when I'm not too keen on feeling like a piece of meat dangled out to be ogled.

I got hit on too! I think it was because they wanted to sleep with me to see if its better while pregnant. You know, this just completely grosses me out and pisses me off.

What's messed up is I get hit on by guys WAY older or WAY younger than me. It's always like... hs/college kids or dirty old men that say something.

Last week, I went to the library (the LIBRARY, of all places!) and some high school kid (I'm assuming) told his friend I had a "nice ass for a pregnant lady". WTH!? He's just talking like that to impress his friend, I'm sure, but...!!???

Crap like that never happened when I wasn't pregnant, I swear.

I am a belly whore (unintentionally of course). I wait tables at a small resataurant with live music. We have lots of regulars. They ALL like to comment on the belly and rub the belly and tell me how huge I am... "Are you sure it's only one baby in there, it's gotta be 2 or 3...... You're not due until August?...... Blah Blah Blah. One regular customer (older ex-hippie dude) was rubbing my belly for way too long as I took the order at their table. His wife later approached me and apologized for him. He then gave me $20.00. I AM A BELLY WHORE! The next weekend I saw him and he tried to kiss me. I turned my head quickly and it landed on my cheek. The other waitress said that when she was pregnant he was the same way with her. What is the deal?

A friend of mine told me it's because I obviously put out. Of course there's also the preggo fet!sh, but I'd rather not think about that.

lol!!!! hey some people have preggy fetish, have you seen all those weird videos on youtube of pregnant girls posing like porn stars and people commenting?!?!?! :

just yesterday I stopped at the store to get water and a few things I needed, a man from behind asking: "too serious today?!?!" wth?!?! lol!!!! I told my husband and he was pissed he wasn't with me at that moment lol I am trying to think he didn't really see my pregnant belly...

I think I'd rather get hit on than the verbal crap I got two days ago. I was walking home from the bookstore, all happy because my DH had bought me the Anne Geddes journal for Mother's Day. All of the sudden I hear, "Hey lard ass, why don't you lose some weight?" from some guys on the front porch of a neighbor's house. I yell back "Hey dumb ass, I'm pregnant." Their retort was to tell me that I should be locked up for child abuse for having a kid when I'm such a fat cow.

Needless to say, my day was ruined. I went to my house went straight to bed and cried my eyes out for a good hour. DH was furious when I told him what had happened. I've gotten some rude comments before, but this one was way more than my pregnancy-aided emotional state could handle. It still makes me very sad and upset just writing about it.
I cannot understand what would make a person think that they have the right to comment on or about another person, either in a good or bad way, right to their face. What type of person does that? I just don't get some people...

I would have gotten myself a gun and marched back over to their porch and said, "What was that about me being a fat cow?" JEEEEsus. Some people don't deserve what little brains they were born with.
