Ok, I got the vacuum out....

....now when is it going to clean the floor for me??

Ugh.

I got up early (for me) instead of going back to bed like normal with the intention of cleaning... and it is not going well. I am so nauseated, I lack motivation, and I would rather just sit on my tail and do nothing.

you have a 12 year old and a 10 year old right? are they at school? if not they can vacuum.

if they complain tell them your friend's 5 year old does it without even complaining!

They are at school, otherwise I know they would do it, they have been cleaning lately more than I have... they are great kids.

My carpet stinks like dog and with this increase in nausea, I just cannot take the smell anymore, I REALLY want this house smelling normal again.

I don't know HOW you deal with the pukes every day Christine, I have not lost my morning sickness yet, but today it is as bad as it was when I was 8 weeks and not the normal manageable bluckiness. I don't puke, but I have been dry heaving all morning and it SUCKS!

I hear ya. . today at least. Seriously, I want one of those robotic vacuums for christmas. oh! and a robotic dish cleaner (ie: someone to put the dishes into the dishwasher), a robotic bathroom cleaner. . .

It's pretty chilly still, and I am in my jammies still, but who cares, windows are now open!! Not sure WHY I did not think of that before. You made my three kitties SO happy! They are tolerating each other enough to line up and sniff at the smells of outside and watch the birds.

Me too! I worry though, I can fill my Dyson Animal in EACH room, WTH would a roomba do in my house?? (I can just see it holding up a little sign like on the cartoons saying "I quit!" I also have 4 levels in my house, WHAT was I thinking???

I just want a volunteer cleaning service! Why oh why can't my sister live locally, she works as a house cleaner, I am sure I could talk her into coming once in a blue moon to help.

I got one room vacuumed, and I am toying with the idea of tossing some of my muffin mix into the mixer real quick so I can cover the dirty carpet smell with blueberry or lemon poppyseed muffin smell, at least long enough for me to get up the gumption to drag the vacuum upstairs to my room.

My DH programs robots for a living, well industrial robots but I'm sure he could adapt them to domestic robots! , you'd think he could come up with something like that. When I ask him he replies "You have me"

I was going to suggest baking soda too. Clean the kitchen with lemon/baking soda and that might help as well.

My kitchen smells OK, it's my carpets that stink...BAD. I have a LARGE and HAIRY golden retriever and a skinny, scardy great dane (she will occasionally piddle, we clean it up right away, but sometimes you get lingering odor). They are inside/outside dogs. They spend about 18 hours inside and 6 hours outside and they play hard, and sweat a lot. They then come inside and lay all over my floors and against my furniture and then my house starts smelling like stale, sweaty, oily dog & dirt (we also have no grass in the backyard).

Normally I shampoo my carpets every 2-4 weeks before it starts smelling, but its been a while. I did do I quick once over when the little girl I used to babysit horked all over my kitchen and my carpets, but it probably needs a good 2-3x over.

I have two free dry-clean sessions once I call the guys out, but I would rather just use my extractor on the whole house first to get the liquid down into the carpet and then pull it back out.

But I don't have a man who cleans, tell him to make a domestic robot and send it my way PRONTO!

I'll just send my dad over to your house. He vaccumed my place again today.

Sprinkling baking soda on the carpet, let it sit for a few minutes and vaccum it up. Worked wonders for us.

Tell your dad, he can adopt me if he vacuums when he visits! My dad would NEVER clean my house.

I got everything vacuumed and swept and my 3 yr old promptly scattered his poppyseed muffins all over my floors. Ugh.

I managed to make a nice dinner of spinach salad, garlic bread and lasagna. Tomorrow is another day, right? I will have plenty of other days to shampoo my rugs before this little princess comes.
