How much does your LO sleep?

My dd is 1 week old!
She is sleeping so much! She sleeps at LEAST 3 hours between feeds and then has the strongest suck, she emptys my oversupplied breast in about 5-10 minutes and then is done. She wets great diapers and has that yummy smelling yellow BF poo...

but seriously is up maybe 2-3 hours a day, and not close to "in a row".
She also never cries, she's seriously so easy.

So i'm not worried about her by any means...but how much does your newborn sleep?

we are settling into a bit of a routine here at 2w.

she is wide awake and nurses a lot between 5p-9:30ish. sleeps frpm 9:30ish-2ish, nurses, sleeps til 5ish, nurses, sleeps til 7ish.

she takes a couple good naps in the am - about 1-2 hr and in mid afternoon about 2-3 hrs

so overall, i would guess around 15-18 hrs/day

The question should be, when is your LO awake?

My ds (1 week) is like yours. He sleeps all day long. He only wakes up to eat every 2 or 3 hours and he has maybe 2 hours of alertness during the day. He is so easy (so far)--so unlike my dd who pretty much cried all the time and was never a huge fan of sleep

Don't speak too soon LOL. When my LO was a week old he slept alot also and was sooooooo easy going, but then his personality started to show and he started staying awake and I was like OH SH%T HIS AWAKE WHAT DO I DO : , I was spoiled by the first week

At 1 week, DS was definitely sleeping all the time, probably 20 hours a day. Now at 5 weeks, I have no idea, but it's definitely much less.

Elizabeth is 2 weeks old today, truthfully she doesn't sleep much during the day as she's more of a cat napper than anything. She also has this thing where she won't sleep unless she's sleeping with me, she refuses to sleep by herself. So if I want her to sleep I have to take a nap with her or at least lay down with her which doesn't work because I have other kiddos to take care of too. She likes the sling so we've been using that to get her to take a nap too but it doesn't work all the time.
She sleeps wonderfully at night though so I don't worry much about the day, at night she goes down at 11pm and sleeps until 4am when she wakes up to eat and then goes right back down until 7am.
I'd love to be able to get her on a schedule but she seems to be resisting me! She's my stubborn kid
