What kind of spray can I use on stuffed animals?

To disinfect them? We got a lot of stuff for our son's birthday and a lot were some stuffed animals that can't be thrown in the wash. What would you use to spray and scrub clean?

I have thrown some in the washing machine inside a pillowcase even though the label said not too. I also more regularly spray them with a mix of vinegar, water and lemon myrtle oil. They smell nice and clean.

i vacuum them and spritz with my 50/50 vodka/water (think febreeze). but i'd be tempted to toss them in a pillow case and toss them in the washer, if they're icky...
