Soft shoe recommendation

Hello. My dd (9 months) is starting to pull up and I think she'll be walking soon! : eek

She doesn't normally wear shoes, but it's getting colder and our sunroom/kitchen floor (where we spend most of our time) is really chilly.

I'd love for her to get some nice, soft shoes that give her some traction. I just can't imagine her slipping on the floor in socks.

Can you suggest a nice shoe?

Many stores make baby socks with rubber bits on the bottom to stop them sliding. At home that is all DD wears, if she's not barefoot. Both Gap and Old Navy carry them, but I've seen others out there, too.

Robeez shoes are also great! We had three pairs before DD started walking, and then she needed something that could withstand the outdoors.

My son's first shoes were called "Padders", which have no leather (important to me) and are machine washable. They have little plastic nubs on the bottom so they don't slip. We loved them.

DS wore socks with non-slip on the bottom for the first month after he started walking (12 1/2 mo). Even outside. Now that I am putting him in shoes I love the Old Navy soft sole shoe. They don't wear extremely well but for $6.00 a piece I can afford to get several. Babies R US and Gap also had soft bottom shoes.

You will probably find, as I did, that they like the noise that a hard bottom shoe makes. DS doesn't have hard bottom shoes but sandels and he LOVES clomping around in them. Some times he forgets to look up as he walks though.

Robeez and Robeez-esque shoes, hands down. Lots of stores make them, and I saw some adorable ones at Target for very little $. Also, www.cutebabyshoes.com has a wide variety of styles.

I had had my son in rubber soled Stride Rites before he could walk, but as soon as I switched him to these type shoes, he took off. These type shoes really are better for them to balance and feel the ground.
