So, YOU tell ME about MY experience. LOL

Well, last night was a first for me. I've said before that I never had any "real" ctx outside of full-blown labor other than dinky BH with DD, and it's been the same this pg except even less BH (though they started earlier...MUCH earlier). So yesterday I just felt different all day, so I took advantage of it, upped my RRL tea, walked a ton, even ate cumin chicken. Anyway, I started having mild ctx after my nightly walk, so around 8-9 pm, and as long as they were around they'd come every few minutes. They intensified a bit when DD nursed to sleep, and they kept up until about midnight when I fell asleep for 1/2 hour and they'd kinda gone away when I got up. Then I showered and afterward they came back until I went to bed around 2:30. That entire time I was constantly emptying my bladder, had TONS of pressure (including rectal pressure, which sucked!), etc. While the ctx were what I'd consider almost painless, they did bring a mild crampy/achey/REALLY tight feeling, and they definitely were more than my normal BH. The thing is, I not really "versed" on what ctx in between dinky BH and full-on labor ctx feel like since I was induced with DD. The sucky thing is, I notice NO cervical changes (maybe a tiny bit of softening IF anything).

So tell me, since once again I've no real experience with the "in between", even though I know there's NO predicting where this could take me and that it probably means absolutely nothing, what could be the significance of actually having "pre-labor" ctx this time around, unlike with DD? Anyone have personal experience similar to mine? (no ctx before and now some) How did things pan out? I just wonder if this is something I can expect to continue on a nightly basis (annoying!) or if it was a one time thing or what. (again, I know no one can really say, but never hurts to ask, right? )

Anyway, all that said, it was really discouraging. I was really praying that it was for real (*gasp*...to go EARLY!! What would it be like!?!?), and a LOT of thigns were different yesterday for me, spiritually, mentally, physically (long story that I will spare you all of), so knowing it did nothing once I woke up this morning sucked.

Same here. I get them during the day at regular intervals. Then by bedtime, they are gone. I'm trying to be thankful that at least the contractions happen when I'm awake so I can get a good night's rest. And trying to remind myself that I am still a week away from my actual due date.

Hang in - you're not alone.

((hugs))

sounds like prodromal labor. had that with my second kid for 2 weeks.

i was weirdly looking forward to it this pg, because last time, when it started, i had 2 weeks before i went into 'real' labor - so i figured this time, i'd look forward to it because it meant the end was in sight. . .but darn it, only had one night of prodromal thus far!

((hugs))

bettyann

ps just try to rest/sleep thru it if you possibly can. ignore it during the day - as you seem to be. . . when it's the 'real deal' trust me, you'll know. and it's just gearing your body up gently so that's a good thing, yuo know? Maybe you'll even dilate a cm or two and be completely effaced before 'real' labor. . .i didn't, but i did at least soften up inside which was good. . . heck, it's all good! it's showing your body is working. . . it's just hard not knowing if/when it's gonna quit. .
