What sicknesses or symptoms has your non vax child had?

I'm talking about stuff like ear infections (how often), cough, runny nose, fever, flu, ect...
I was reading elsewhere about one kid having 13 ear infections by the time they were 11 months old. Then, there is one kid in my playgroup that is always missing the group because he's has a stomach bug and 2 ear infections in the last month. Another just developed asthma and eczema and the doc wants to put them on meds. The 1st 2 kids live pretty close to me and only 1 is in daycare, the ladder is somewhere but all are vaccinated on schedule.

It makes me think back to the 2 month appt with my pedi who tried to convince me the Hib vax was good for ear infections too. I refused but wonder how many ear infections my son might have had...

I've been playing the what if game lately. I wonder how many kids could have avoided all those infections, fevers, disorders, ect. Of course, we'll never know but I would love to do a study on this (if I had the money).

A few "unknown" viruses where she runs a high fever and no other real symptoms.

That's about it.

She'll be 4yrs in August.

My son just turned 1 in April and I live in FL.

DS#1- reaction to first round of shots. delayed until approx 15-18 mo. severe reaction. stopped vaxxing. no real health issues at all. stomach bug maybe 2x his whole life. no colds/ear infections. partially vaxxed.


DS#2-ear infections we couldn't seem to get rid of (come to find out it was his teething causing pain..that's it)...
-had to do the TED because of believed food allergies (turned out no food issues)....
-has eczema and severe asthma and is on major steriod meds for his asthma which cause him to be immunocompromised.
-We are currently trying to figure out why he's not gaining weight. He's 3.5 and still weighs 31 lbs...so hasn't gained a single lb in 1.5 yrs. Will probably have to put him back on pediasure and/or pumped breastmilk (in addition to his normal foods) because he's just not eating/gaining.
-No colds, maybe 1 stomach bug ever.. completely non-vaccinated.

DD- never been really sick. got her brothers' stomach bug once-lasted a day or so. that's it. completely non-vaccinated.

I homeschool. We are active in our church and attend Sunday School, worship, and Sunday night activities. We also go to a midweek bible study, a homeschool co-op on Fridays, and drama and gymnastics as other extra curriculars... my point is that we homeschool but are out and about and not at home away from places where people catch and pass around illnesses.

She's had more illness in general but she got most vaxes until 3mo when I figured out the truth. ALso she's been in daycare and dd2 has not.

I have on fully vaxed up to 5 yrs. child, partially vaxed up to 6mths child and a unvaxed child.

None have had an ear infection or rather no signs of one. They've all had stomach viruses (the youngest has only had one), other un-none viruses/colds. My dd did have bacterial pnemonia (sp?) when she was a newborn (5 weeks), she did have the hep B in the hospital.
My dd has had antibiotics twice once for the pnemonia and one other time for a sinus infection years later (she's 11). The other two have never had antibiotics (almost 7 yrs. old and 18 mths old) .

My older son does seem to have psorasis like me (very mild for both of us).

For the first 9 months of her life, she was diagnosed with a respiratory infection EVERY month. It would go away, she would be fine for about two weeks and then get sick again.

My DD is 19 months.
She has had one virus that I got after her. It consisted of a high fever, terrible body aches, and an extremely sore throat.
She had one fever of around 101 that seemed to have no other symptoms (she didn't seem sick - just had an obvious fever) followed by a non-specific rash.
And that is it (knock on wood). No colds, or stomach viruses of any sort yet.

2 tummy bugs that involved 1 evening of vomiting each - no loose stools
1 Case of the sniffles
3 Colds (all since she started preschool)

That's it in 4 years...a healthy immune system is a wonderful thing!

ds is 8 months old and hasn't been to a wbv since 2 mos when we told the ped that we weren't going to vax...

1 cold when he was just over 6 mos old (lasted about a week or so)
got the sniffles for a day or so a few days after i had the flu (self-diagnosed-never went to doc)
no ear infections
no real diaper rash (a few red bums here and there, but no all-out rash)
no allergies that we're aware of...still exclusively bf'd

had to have meds more then once...

My 18 and 6 year old boys never had an ear infection.

They did have:
- Roseola - both
- Stomach bugs - both a couple, older one actually got a severe one once (an outbreak in a family camp with a lot of people sick)
- some slow virus, but not EBV (older one)
- Strep A with Scarlet fever (little one)
- A few 24-48 hour episodes of 'who knows what' with just fever and not much else - both.

My youngest is the only one I have not vaxed at all.

I have been amazed at how different his immune system works than my older kids. He will spike a fever and have it for maybe 12 hours and then get better. Never really turns into anything else. We are still dealing with pertussis, has not really been a big deal. The bigger deal is feeling like I can't tell people why he coughs the way he does. Because you know the moms that vax just freak out!:
