Does anyone know which, if any, slow cookers are completely free of any toxic substances? I know that some manufacturers will claim that any heavy metals will not leach out but I'd rather there weren't any heavy metals at all even if the risk is only theoretical.
Also, we have a small cooker that is basically a deep metal casserole dish on a heating plate. It basically serves the same purpose without the risk of the lead or cadmium but it is "non stick" and the teflon looks a little scratched up.
Is anyone aware of a non "non stick" metal version of this type of cooker as an alternative to the ceramic slow cookers?
Thanks,
~Cath
