Hi-
So I have a three year old, and I have seen abucuses everywhere, but enver a book or instructions.
How do you use them?
What ages do you use them?
Do you have any book recommendations for this.
Thanks

Montessori schools use the abacus to teach "dynamic" math. In lay terms, that is carry over math. My son started using it alot in the first grade. You may find out about it in a Montessori book, or just visit a school and I'm sure they would be glad to help. By the way, in a Montessoris school the abacus is called a "large bead frame", but it's an abacus.
