Moderne Baby Blanket from MDK

I'd love some input on this project. I've knit up to 26 garter ridges in block 7 and it's already the finished size. I'm not sure where I should go from here. What would you do if it were your project? I need to get it finished up so I can knit the second, matching blanket for my brother's twins.

These ones show the actual colors better:

No one has any opinions for me? It's ok if you don't like it, even. Tell me that and I'll start work on a couple of kimonos for them with matching booties or hats.

I like it (I'm partial to that pattern myself). How many blocks does the pattern say to do? I don't have my book in front of me to look at but looking at your pictures I'd say keep going (assuming there are more blocks). It doesn't seem complete yet with just the 7 shown. I also wouldn't worry too much about the size. I'm of the mind set larger blankets are better....what's a baby blanket now will become a toddler friendly one and then a lap throw later.

There are 10 blocks all together. They're all pretty big, too. My biggest problem with doing all 10 blocks is that I have to do a second one for his sister! I don't know if I can finish both for June and they may come earlier than that.

I like it as well. I think in your shoes, I'd cast on for the second blanket and get it to the same stage. You can either finish it off (I don't have that book, so no idea what the pattern says) or do a one-colour border all the way around- something light would work and would pull it all together.

maybe this a silly idea, but you could always leave this one where it is and start on the second one, but with the full intention of completing the pattern, time permitting before the little bundles of joy appear.

it looks good the way it is, but i'm sure it would look great if the whole pattern could come together.

Thanks for the ideas! I've decided to knit through block 8 and then start the second one. I'm just worried the babes will come early so I want to get these blankets done.
