Because I have a GORGEOUS sock pattern I so want to do but it's only in Finnish currently. I found it on ravelry. Wanna see?

Of course you do.

I have never wanted tweedy looking knee socks til I saw those.

LoL . . . it took me a while to figure out what you were asking. I thought you were talking about how to finish the pattern then I saw it wasn't English. It's Finnish.

Cute socks though.

sorry I don't but Ravelry is a terrible crutch for those of us who fall for a pattern and don't know how to speak any other language. I just found these mittens and they are so cool, I want to make them so bad I ordered the book (in german) from a german website. I also love one of her other books and would love if it was in english...

Here are the mittens:

Anyone knows german I would love to knit the mittens!

Good luck finding a translation, have to tried to contact her on ravelry, maybe she knows someone that could help.

I thought that looked odd but I couldn't figure it out. I went and fixed the spelling.

Try this...it may work. I also checked Babel Fish, but no Finnish option.

Copy and paste the words (maybe sentence by sentence would work best...)

May be worth a shot. Those are gorgeous. When I actually wear socks, I loves me some knee highs!

They have a translation glossary on that site... with a little work you could probably translate most of it and fake the rest.

PM Kxsiven! I bet she can help you!

One of the midwives I work with (breastfeeding support) is Finnish. If ravelry and all else won't turn something up, I'll ask her- but I know she's snowed under at work and isn't a knitter.
Have you considered asking Finnish Knitters on ravelry for help?

eta: JennP, I read German. LMK if I can help.

Have you checked the Ulla group on Rav?

I'm Finnish but sadly I don't know English knitting terminology. If no one else can help, I can always try my best to figure it out. It'll have to wait until tomorrow, though, unfortunately I don't have the time today.

ETA: There's a dictionary type thing here, I don't know if it's enough on its own. If it isn't, I can at least use it to help with the terminology if you need me to translate the thing.

Wow thanks ladies! I found the pattern on ravelry but I didn't think to search ravelry for help. I'll do that and check the various translators you all have shared.

And if those don't work, expect some pm's!
