Need help with gassy baby please

Its been 6 mos. of gas and tummy pain for my dd2 that wakes us up all night long, every hour or two, sometimes less, sometimes a little more. Actually, I thought it was starting to get better but at 4mos it got worse. Losing sleep is, of course, hard. But my main concern is her sleep and her pain. I've been on the elimination diet for three weeks now and instead of being better, she actually seems worse these last few days (she's teething too soooo..). The doctor suggested reflux and zantac (I'm not sure it is reflux cause she doesn't spit up alot so haven't done the zantac yet). Tried mylicon, gripe water, homeopathic colic tabs, mylanta... I think that covers it. Propped up the edge of the bed for her to sleep on an angle... I carry her for her naps during the day (she used to sleep for a good hour or more this ways but lately not sleeping well during the day either). I've tried block-feeding (not really knowing how to do that- would love some advice on that because it seems like my supply runs out in one or the other breast before the block of time is up for that particular side) because I do think I might have overactive let down. She gulps a lot of air when she's nursing , especially at night when she's in pain - so maybe latch issues??? Considering pumping and using bottles? - Don't know much about pumping because I didn't have to do it with dd1- what's a good pump? bottles? storage? Called LLL and not much help there. Next will try a lactation consultant, though the nearest one is 3 or 5 hours away, depending on which town I drive to. And dd2 hates her car seat so she might be screaming the whole way. My dh can't help right now as he's working 12 hour days 7 days a week for the next couple weeks to get a project done. So at this point I'm looking at nursing issues but hard to get help. But considering everything and also thinking of crib/amby to help sleep??? When she wakes up at night its because she's in pain and I can here her tummy rumbling - I get up and walk her for a good hour sometimes before she calms down, she usually burps and toots while I'm walking her. Sometimes only feeding her will get her back to sleep but that's frustrating because she's gulping air and I know she'll be waking up again soon with more pain. Her poops are small amounts and more 4-5 times a day lately and they're yellow - green with not much curd (sometimes green stringy-looking stuff).
So there it all is -- not too long to read, I hope.
Does anyone have some suggestions??? Please???
My dd1 has been very patient while I typed this out. She's dealing with all of this amazingly well. My little sweetie.

It could be silent reflux. That's where they spit up in their mouths then swallow again. Ask your ped or google for symptoms.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

With fussiness/sleep problems with my 2nd, I got good results from visits to a chiropractor. Chiro and/or cranial-sacral may help, but it sounds like a food/gut issue is possible too. The folks in Allergies know a lot about gut health. We had several pieces of the puzzle to fit together--so I think highly of chiro/cranial-sacral, but it was just one piece of our puzzle (different than yours, so I don't have any other helpful advice--but you can figure it out, there are lots of experienced people around here).

No chiro/cst? How awful. I've been so happy with the help I've gotten from several people.

Probiotics are great. I mentioned the Allergies forum because some folks on EDs seem to use digestive enzymes as well, in addition to probiotics, and I haven't needed to go that route, so I don't know much, but there are lots of knowledgeable folks there. But the lack of help with the ED made me think of it.

Yeah, we're a little remote here so...
I'll check out the allergies forum, thanks for that tip. I never would have thought to look there.
Last night was pretty bad. Maybe because I added sweet potatoes in the last couple of days??? Or was it because I fed her immediately whenever she fussed at night (someone suggested that). Previously, if I knew she wasn't hungry but just in pain I would walk her upright for a bit to see if she could get some gas out or go back to sleep. Hmmmm.....
It gets complicated trying to untangle all the possible causes...
Thank you for your help

No suggestions, just
I'll be watching this thread because I'm dealing with almost identical issues with my almost 5 month old DS. I've yet to pinpoint the problem. I've done the ED, probiotics, block feeding (I do have overactive letdown), elevated sleeping, mylanta (we're trying to avoid Rx reflux meds, too because I'm not totally convinced its *just* "reflux; though he does spit up to a degree). I'd love to take him to a chiro, but we're also in a small town with none (fortunately we'll be moving to a big city in a couple months so if we haven;t resolved the issue by then I may have options) It is very frustrating as I nursed DS1 with no problems to speak of, yet we've really been through a lot in the last several months
Lately I've been thinking that maybe he has some degree of tounge tie that makes his latch somewhat funky and causes him to ingest a lot of air while nursing. I just don't know, though.
Hope you get some good suggestions and find something that helps.

The only other thing I know of for kids with allergies/intolerances (if that's the issue, of course) is sensitivity to food chemicals like salicylates, amines, like that. The Feingold diet addresses one of those, but I don't even know all the various possibilities there, I just know one mom who saw great improvement with the reduction of amines.

a note on the probiotics... we've had great luck with them, but our fussiness issues haven't been as extreme as yours. What species are you ordering? You might note that L. Ruetri is the only one that has been proven in trials to actually lessen colic in babies..
