what are my birthing options?

I live in one of the crappiest states for giving birth.... Illinois.

I had a c-section with my first child...and want a VBAC with this one.

what are my options? I don't think the hospital route is the way I'm going to go....

I dunno, Scarlett. Most of the birthing centers in TX won't take VBACs. Are you willing to consider homebirth? Do you live close enough to a state line to maybe travel for the birth?

You might try asking in the "Finding Your Tribe" thread for Illinois. Maybe someone there has more info.

I'd prefer a homebirth...and even have thought about an UC....

I'll check out the finding my tribe forum...

Some midwives will do vbacs. IF you were closer, you could drive to Columbia, MO to the birth center.

I wish I knew more about IL stuff, all I know is the MO stuff.

IL is a crappy state, especially if you are rural.
Are you near chicago? Your options get a little better there.

Tell me, tell me! I'd really like to VBA2C.

Check out ICAN. See if you have a local group. I belong to mine and its great. 3 friends have just VBAC'd and NJ is pretty awful too. Here you can't homebirth VBAC with a midwife. The midwife can lose their license so I will be have a hospital VBAC but I'll be with midwifes who have a 95% VBAC success rate. Pretty good odds!
