Legs...

I love my legs <3

And as much of a hippi as I am... I LOVE slicky smooth legs.

People have given me the whole "God.dess made you how you are/ look at all the waste you are making!" talk(s) before...

What I wanted to know is:
How do you keep your legs smooth?
If you do not shave, do you wax? Is there some type of natural wax that is good? Easy to use?
What is a nice alt. to shaving cream, is there any?
What do you use after you shave?
Any thing else you want add is welcomed too!

Kiss My Face makes an all-natural shaving goo (I forget exactly what they call it) in a pump bottle. It works very well.

I was having trouble with flakey, itchy legs lately, so I tried putting Kerry's Herbals Miracle Salve on them after shaving. (I used to use it on my son's diaper rash!) My legs feel great now! That salve smells very nice, too.

I just soap my legs up with black african soap and then shave. I then put shea butter on them. They are silky and shiny.

I use the unrefined and haven't had a problem with it stinging, the refinded and scented does sting though. What kind are you wearing.

Here is a website about Persian Waxing http://frugalliving.about.com/gi/dyn...11%2Fhair.html

It's cheap and reusable and once it's all hairy and gross and unusable it'll biodegrade. I'm not affiliated in anyway.

I use either plain water to shave or coconut oil. After I shave I apply a mix of oils- coconut as the base, jojoba, rose hip seed, and some sweet almond. Body brushing will help with exfoliation

I use CO for shaving as well and I never need to use a moisturizer afterwards - I'm always left silky smooth!

I use a shaving soap that comes in bar form. It has bentonite clay in it, which makes a rich later and helps the razor to glide really well. I buy mine from an Etsy seller but I'm hoping to find a more local source, and maybe make my own someday.

I slather my legs with honey and shave with a Schick Quattro. I cannot use another razor, I am absolutely addicted to them.

I only use water when I shave, but I make sure I massage my legs first. For some reason that helps cut down razor burn and they feel smoother. I use a Preserve razor so it's a little more environmentally friendly. I use jojoba oil, if anything, to moisturize afterwards. BTW, I'm a totally hippie, too, but I hate the feel of hair on my legs.

My one and only shower consession to non-enviromentally friendly stuff is my Venus razor. Because it has the built in shave stuff I can actually shave more often that once a week. And since I haven't evolved past really hairy legs that is a blessing. They last forever for me too so they remain my guilty little pleasure.

Have you looked into sugar waxing? It's sugar, water and lemon juice, boiled to 250 F and then cooled. Google it for the exact recipe! I made some and it works pretty well! haven't tried it on legs (I can do natural childbirth, but the thought of ripping all my hair out scares me!), but it's great for my eyebrows and I did a little bikini waxing too

I use an electric epilator like this. It hurts a bit, but you get used to it. My problem is that it still takes quite some time. Like an hour or more every two weeks. And it hurts, did I mention that? I am feeling very conflicted about this lately, especially since my DD was born and I don't really have that much time for myself. And when I have some time, I would rather use it in a different way. Why on earth do I need to inflict pain on myself on regular basis? Yet, when I have hair on my legs I feel horrible and I even dream about it sometimes, as if it is something shameful. I feel that I have been somehow programmed to hate the hair on my legs. I hope my daughter will feel more free about this.

I use coconut oil after. Right now I am using alba's shaving cream and a schick quatro as a razor.
