I can't do math! Help! How much to dilute 35% hydrogen peroxide?

Yeah, that sums it up. I've bought food grade hydrogen peroxide, 35%, to dilute it and use it around the house. I think I am saving us a whole bunch of money!
But, I'm not sure how much to dilute it. 3 multiplied by twelve is 36, so would it be a 1:12 ratio? That seems like it would work, but I seem to remember some formula from algebra with x's and y's and equal signs that is supposed to tell you the ratio of percentages to add to make another percentage.
Any math goddesses out there?

What are you trying to dilute it to? 3% like you buy at the grocery? What do you want to use it for?

11 water to 1 H2O2 (for a total of 12 parts) would dilute it to just under 3%, 10 to 1, just over. We use it in much higher concentrations for a variety of purposes thought -- stain remover, produce rinse, etc.
