They have already assigned me my nurse and I got to meet with her today and she will bring the baby to me right away so we can bond/try and get BF'ing started in the recovery room! Thanks so much for that!
I hope everything is smooth and wonderful and that recovery is a easy breezy!

Sorry I haven't had a chance to respond to your recent PM (we are in the process of packing for the move to Kansas).
Awesome! I am thrilled with this news!
My original OB I had here at the beginning of my PG told me the same line of bull. I got sick of her and interviewed another OB in town and he was worse! He had no clue what actually happens in Recovery. He kept telling me it was policy due to HIPPA. I was like "Say what? What do you mean?" He says "Well someone might here you." Me "Here what?" He says "The baby nursing."

So mean to tell me its okay for me to hear a nurse discussing someone else in the bed next to me (its a multi bed recovery room) oozing wound, but not okay for a nurse to help me latch my baby and for a baby to nurse?

OMG! I was livid! I left the interview in tears. My husband was with me and caught up with me in the parking lot and told me to calm down and call L&D and find out what the hell is procedure and policy and if I didn't like go about getting it changed.
So I called L&D and the nurse coordinator is like, uh no. He is absolutely wrong. Baby and Dad go to the nursery for the weighing, measuring etc while I am being stitched up and taken to recovery. Once I am in recovery I can have my baby as soon as I want her and I am comfortable.
Needless to say I interviewed another OB in another practice and I have been very happy with her. She completly understands I want to Nurse as soon as I am in recovery. She said she would have me there within 20-25 minutes or so.
I will be thinking of you on Monday!
