I feel sooooo bad........

post #1 of 6

So last night while trying to get my LO to bed I was getting frustrated because he was fussy and whining and I tried to nurse him he would not take it, I tried to put him on my chest and pat him but he was still upset. So he finally took the breast and when all of a sudden he starts vomiting . He did not feel well and I feel HORRIBLE for getting frustrated, - him didn't feel well and I kept offering my breast - he was already full

Oh mama::s

You didn't know. Give your little one a few extra kisses and take it easy on yourself. Mothering is hard.

Oh, mama, it's ok. You were trying to COMFORT him. That's what you're supposed to do. You didn't have any way of knowing he was fussy because he needed to spit up! Goodness, Lilli is only 2 weeks old and I've offered her the breast when she really needed to burp or spit up I don't know how many times! It's okay.

Last night must have been the night for April baby puke.

My LO did a HUGE projectile vomit last night, I felt awful for her

You were just trying to comfort him...no need to beat yourself up. Nursing is usually a cure all and even when my LO's have been stuffed they still want more "comfort nursing" at times.

ditto all the above: please don't feel bad for trying to comfort yr babe!! one day he'll be able to clearly tell you how he feels and what he needs; until that day you will just have to guess at the meaning of his cues and try your best. it sounds like you did that!
