I have a new fridge -- well, a couple of months old now, but the freezer is so frosty. Everything in it is covered in frost. Does anyone know why this would be? Too cold? Not cold enough?

Frosty freezer?

Is it a self-frosting or manual frost freezer?
That would make a big difference.
But if it's self-frosting, they can get iced up if you keep the freezer door open for too long and do it too often. We had 4 teenage boys, and they'd stand at the freezer looking for snacks etc, and I seemed to always be calling out. "Shut the freezer!" Condensation forms and refreezes when this happens.
Also, check the seals, and make sure there is nothing just preventing them from shutting right up. It doesn't take much. Ours kept frosting up once for a few days, and eventually we found that a carton of icecream was juuuuuuust pressing against the seals enough to stop them sealing completely, though it wasn't obvious by just looking at first.
Other than that, if it's not in the fault solving section of the instruction manual, just contact the company and ask them about it.

We had this problem with our frig in Mexico, I could never understand why. I think it was a manual defrost, because it would never stop until we cleaned the whole thing out...which to me is a huge chore. Maybe it was a seal somewhere...uhmmm. Next time were down there i'm gonna check the seal.

We had this problem when our fridge door was bent and the seal wasn't sealing all the way. Humidity would get in and the freezer would get all "snowy". Fortunately we were able to fix the door and now all is well again.

I recently had this problem with my 7 y/o fridge. It started like that, and slowly progressed to no longer keeping cool. Yikes!
It ended up that the automatic defrosting wasn't working anymore. Sears came out and fixed it in just an hour or so. We saved muchos money by purchasing the Sears protection plan.
