Lane Amelia was born on Tuesday May 6th at 10:29 am weighing in at 6 lbs 9 ounces and 19.5 inches long. She left the hospital weighing 5.15 (so now she is pretty much DD's size when she was born and went home).
went into Labor on Monday, had contractions ALL day then finally they go to the point where I couldn't talk to DD through them. DH was in August, GA (3 hrs away) and the contractions were about 8 min apart when I finally called him and he was 45 min away, so he flew home and took me to the hospital. After 2 hours of monitoring, and still only at 2-3 cm, the doc agreed to keep me and start my antibiotics (for my heart, so they wouldn't miss the window of when they can give them to me) and if I hadn't progressed by morning he'd give me pitocin and then my own OB would be there since she was on call that day. So, we were admitted at 9:30pm on MOnday and by 1am (still only at 3cm), I was exhausted and in pain so I gave in and got the epidural, after that I slept and by 7am I was 5-6 then by 9:00 I was 9 cm. My epidural worked too good and I couldn't even feel the head was so low, I had them lower it b/c my legs actually hurt from being so numb then they lowered it more so I could push. After 2 cycles of contractions/pushing, her head almost fully poped out and I had to hold it and wait for the doc to suit up...then with 2 more pushes she was out. She is nursing good now and sleeping a lot, Wed and Thurs night was HELL b/c she was cluster feeding, but last night was GREAT!! Hopefully she is going to be like DD and be a good sleeper at night, she only got up 2x last night and went back to sleep after....DD started sleeping 4 hrs at night by like week 2....here's hoping???? I'm recovering really good, no stitches or anything
YIPPEE! Big Sister just adores her and our biggest challenge is to get her to stop kissing her. The coolest thing was that DD got to witness the whole thing and wasn't freaked out or anything and was so happy when she found out she had a little sister just like she said it was.
