Three hours of ctx and all I got was this tee shirt...

Ha. Not even a tee shirt. I was having ctx ten minutes apart from 3am-6am. Now I'm sore, tired, have bloody mucous, and have had irregular ctx all morning. I'm not sure if I should try and nap or climb the stairs at "Mt Labor"- a local park, to try and get things moving. And to top it off, my MIL, who is insistent we send our daughter to her house when I *do* go into labor was MIA all morning. Why have a cell phone if you don't answer it? :

Today is my due date.

nak - well seems like things are moving! i found this really helpful when i was dealing with prodromal: http://www.childbirthsolutions.com/a...abor/index.php

dont exhaust yourself! i would choose orgasm and a nap over mt labour, personally. good luck mama!!!!

yup I agree...I learned that wearing myself out trying to kick start things made them drag longer. Your body may be saying it's tired and needing that last boost of energy before going "full bore" I would opt for a good nap, followed by orgasm if possible lol (sleep first is my priority lol)

None the less...bloody show too?! Sounds like you are next in line! ELV's to you and I hope you are holding your little one in your arms tonight or early in the morning

I agree. Rest up - if you can. I know it's easier said than done at this point . Sounds like you'll be having that baby sooner rather than later, though! :

I hear ya, mama! I was experiencing something very similar all evening yesterday. I was having some nice, good ctx . . . approx. 10 min. apart all evening. By the time I went to bed, they were closer to 5-7 min. apart and I had to concentrate to get thru them. I even called my mom (who's 5.5 hrs away) and put her "on call," JIC. Then what happens overnight?! Nothing! They go away . . . and I've had hardly any today! It's so frustrating, I know.

I ditto the suggestions of just taking it easy and rest up as much as you can. As tempted as I was to get out and walk, walk, walk today, I opted for a low key day sitting on my birthing ball, sewing a couple newborn outfits and then took a nap. The bloody show is a very positive sign -- I think it's safe to say you'll be holding your babe soon!

Sounds like it's going to be soon! Definitely rest while you can. There will be plenty of time to be moving around.

When I went into labor with my second, I couldn't get ahold of anyone, except my doula for almost three hours -- my husband or my mother (who was in charge of my older child). Very annoying. My co-workers ended up driving me home from work.

I just tried to nap and darn if the ctx didn't get STRONGER when I laid down! Nuts. Now I'm sitting on the birth ball, which seems to make them gentler (?) and wondering if the every 3-5 minutes I've been having the past half-hour are going to keep it up, or magically disappear...Maybe I should call my midwife, just in case

I found this during my early labour, too...they would be way closer together but weaker and shorter if I was standing and moving around. If I laid down to try to rest for a bit, they would space out but become longer and stronger. Go figure.

Stuff is definitely happening for you! Sending ELVs your way
