Ok I just finished up my first one and did 5 rounds of plain stockinette before trying it on. It looks just like the picture and I started it at a little less then 2 inches short of foot length. I tried it on though and it doesn't even come past the ball of my heel! Did I do something wrong? I knit exactly according to pattern. Is that how it's supposed to fit? Does the rest of my heel appear as I keep knitting? I'm so used to heel flaps so when I'm done with the heel portion I have a heel. I can try it on and it comes down the back of the ankle and then curves around the ball. Do short row ones not work like that?
ETA: OK I don't know how to measure.
It's a tad more than 2 inches short of my total foot length. Not a lot though. Even at an exact 2 inches I don't see this thing going all the way over the ball. Should I frog it and start it at less than 2 inches?
