Nursing moms...PAIN!!!

Oh my gosh, I posted about nipple soreness when DD latched on about a week ago, but AAAHH!! It's gotten SO bad!!! And it's just that- soreness (no cause like thrush or poor latch), and only my nipples...the rest of my bb's don't hurt. I seriously have to wonder if it's related to the baby coming soon, and I hope so, because it's getting increasingly worse and it'd be nice to at least have the cause of it be a new nursling.

I always get really sore nipples for the first week or so of nursing. I think a little of it is latch, as both of my boys have been slightly tongue tied. The only thing that got me through were those soothies gel pads. They prevented sores and really helped sooth things through the rough spot. By two weeks, I never had anymore pain.

If it doesn't get better in the next couple days or so, you might consider seeing an LC, just to check on things.

If I read correctly she's talking about the older nursling and hasn't had the baby yet

If so- ME TOO! Arg. All of a sudden dd's latch is like biting with shark teeth again. And she's NOT! poor bug.

Hopefully it means something's happening...

I was thinking the same thing at first, that it was new nursling related, but then I re-read. LOL

I noticed some of the mamas who are getting close are sore too, maybe it is natures way of trying to "toughen" them up. Mine are more tender too, but they have been that way for a week and I don't expect this baby any time soon. I have a feeling this is one of those "pre-labor" symptoms that last a while...

I hate to say it, but man I am glad my son weaned in early pregnancy... I am not sure I would have the patience with him to be nursing still.
