Still Pregnant Check In: 5/11-5/17 - Page 9

I have realized that I was really letting my family freak me out about the fact that at 41 weeks and 2 days I still have not delivered. Then today my midwife told me that one of her previous clients went all the way to 44 weeks. :

So, I feel a lot better. I was terrified that my midwife was going to drop me at 42 weeks, but she says as long as the babe is healthy there is no reason to drop me or make me go through an induction.

I feel so much calmer. My family can go jump in a lake. Or just stop calling me or showing up at my house or sending me dumb emails about how to induce labor.
BAH! :

But the commiseration is sure nice!

I'm totally cool with hanging in there until baby shows up. I am beginning to get the phone calls. I just got an email from a friend who hasn't heard from me in a few days asking if I was in the "whelping pool" which made me laugh out loud!

I remember when I was pregnant with my first and still working full time at the vet hospital as a groomer...I had so many people ask me what I was having - everyone assumes that you find out the gender - that just told them "a baby". Then when I got closer to the end and kept getting that question, I told them "a litter of puppies". Most people laughed and I think caught on to the fact that I'd answered that question from every previous client.....

I do keep thinking that I will wake up in the middle of the night in labor though and it has not happened yet....

It is nice to not be alone, isn't it?

I've long sense stopped answering the phone for most people... no patience.

I keep waiting to wake up in the middle of the night in labor too... nope, just more bathroom trips

I'm still content with hanging on for awhile too, thankfully I'm not miserable or over due. Come the 26th though I'll elbowing everyone out of my way so I can avoid my c-setion! Until then I'll be happy to watch the rest of you go first, especially those of you who are over due and/or uncomfortable.

I keep reminding myself I'm NOT overdue. 41 weeks 1 day. Not "overdue" until 42 weeks 1 day

Come on out baby! Everyone is ready to meet you! Weekends are convenient times for birthing too!

Right now would be an excellent time to be born. Just putting that in writing.

Yes, yes it would. Come out and play babies!

The full moon is coming. The full moon is coming. The full moon is coming.

Dd is a full moon baby, though there was a low pressure system that same night, and we aren't due one until the end of the week. Dh is so cute, he offered to take us to dinner in the mountains one night this week to see if the altitude change would do it (our family doc suggested this, said that that's what got his wife going the first time around). That's terribly impractical, I told him maybe if by next weekend (I'll be officially over 40 weeks then). sigh.
