nursing an older child and baby

Those of you who are already nursing with older kid(s) and are or will be nursing newborn babies, what is coming out? LOL, I mean colostrum or milk? Or a mixture? Does the wee one get regular BM from day 1?

No, the milk will change over to colostrum in the end of the pregnancy in prep for the baby. In the order of biological importance, your body covers the fetus first, then the nursling on the outside.

At birth, there is colostrum and it will change over to milk in a few days. It varies for everyone.

Milk has been gone for what seems like eons now. I've had colostrum for several months.

Thanks! That makes a lot of sense, and I wondered how that worked.
