No AF yet, should I worry?

Hi all!

I'm a little bit worried that something is wrong with my cycles. AF returned when Little Guy was 15 months and I was pregnant by the next cycle. We expected a similar return to fertility to this time around, however, Baby Girl is nearly 20 months and I haven't had my first post partum AF. Is it normal for my cycle to vary that much? She really doesn't nurse *that* much. Some days she nurses more than others. We also cosleep with her, but since we have a queen sized mattress pushed against a twin mattress there's plenty of room so she isn't right on top of me. So she usually sleeps most of the night without nursing.

It wouldn't really be a huge deal, but we would like a third (and final ) baby. We've set the deadline for me to get pregant at the end of this year. Yeah, I know December is a long way off so I'm not too worried about the deadline (yet ) but it would be nice to start TTC.

Thoughts?

You're very kind, but I'm not pregnant.

Maybe I was too wordy in my original post. After I had Little Guy I got AF back when he was 15 months old and was pregnant with his sister when he was 16 months old. His sister is almost 20 months and I still don't have AF. Is it normal to have so much variation?

I would like a way, short of weaning her, that I can encourage my cycles to return. Are there any vitamins/minerals that I might be low on?

Thanks .

You could try Vitex--I heard that that might help AF come? Good luck, let us know what you do as I am still waiting for my post bcp af!

start temping. then you'll be able to tell when you're getting ready to ovulate, and you'll be able to get a jump on TTC before AF even starts.

THe only thing temping will confirm is that you have ALREADY ovulated when you see the temp jump--temps can't tell when you're going to ovulate. However, I do think understanding your fertility signs will be a tremendous help in TTC. Check out Toni Weschler's Taking Charge of Your Fertility. You could also come visit us in Nursing Mamas TTC (new thread monthly in the TTC board).

I don't know how much variation is normal in one's return to fertility as I have resumed cycling right at 25-26 months PP both times. All I know is that 20 months isn't a terribly long wait around here.

Good luck!
