We have a baby! who guessed Mothers day?
I went to bed a little after midnight saturday night, after making 2 huge layer cakes on a whim for mothers day... well... at 1:30 ish i woke up cramping badly, and then again a few minutes later... right ftrom the start i was 6-7 minutes apart. i waited a while to make sure they weren't gonna ytaper off on me, but at 3ish they wer 5 minutes apart, and we called the midwife and went the half hour drive to the hospital. we got there at 330, and coontractions were coming faster, but i have no clue how fast, and my midwife checked and said i was very strecthy and thin and between 7-8 cm...
i knew ahead of time that this time i did not want any drugs, and we had a completely intervention free, drug free water birth, attended by my midwife, my mom, dh, and DS (who did great, and apparently is the only person i did not scream and yell at), and just one nurse who held the flashlight at the end.
And at 5:16 AM, just under 2 hours after getting to the hospital, our new baby was born. 7 pounds 12 ounces, 19 inches long, and....

Girl!!!!
Eva Ruth
She is beautiful, and a special blessing for everyone, since she is the first girl in her generation, after many many boys. (think 15 plus) she is the first girl for either side of either family, including for great-grandparents.
