Yippee! I got a Brownie Edge Pan

From the day I saw the PR piece about The Edge Brownie Pan in my local paper, I started lusting for one. I'm a brownie corner addict. I just love eating super fudgy brownies with crispy, crunchy edges. But I never got one because I couldn't justify the cost for something that would really only be for me KWIM? The rest of the family likes brownies but aren't corner crazy like I am.

My dh and the kids bought me one for Mother's Day along with a brownie cookbook. I was sooo happy. I was gushing about it all day until dh said, "You didn't think we got the pan and book just for you did you?" :

That sounds like a great present

What a neat pan, and what a thoughtful present! I was thinking about using miniloaf pans to increase edge area in some of my baked goods, but this is a much better idea.

I got one for the holidays and I LOVE IT!!!!

Keep in mind when using a regular recipe, that it will not fill the pan..I have had to double mine.

If you use a package mix, you will need at least 2.

I am an inside piece girl myself but am happy for you receiving a great mothers day gift!

Yeah...that!

I personally hate the edges, but what an awesome idea for edge lovers!

Now if they can make a "Brownie Middle Pan" I will buy it!!

Unless you use Namaste mixes ;-). They're made to fill a 13x9 pan.

oooooo..good to know..where would I find these magic mixes? Sounds like I might not need to be as chinsey with the amount I leave in the bowl to lick out!

Whole Foods and Amazon, among others.

They're also free of most major allergens... and yet soooo good. I love their brownies! The spice cake makes a wicked carrot cake too. I've taken it to a party, and it was devoured in preference to the two professional cakes also available! The pizza crust is eh, and the blondies really need stuff added (I usually go with chocolate chips & macadamia nuts).

Speaking as a corner girl myself, what a great idea! And an even more great gift! Yum!

OH man, I love the edges too! I will be putting this on my want list...... I never knew they made something like that! I also am crazy over pizza crust. I eat the pizza to get to the crust & judge which piece I want bu the crispiness of it, LOL. I am luck that I am the only one in the house that likes the edges.... so more for me

Oh, and try the Baker's One Bowl recipe. It's designed for a 13 x 9 pan so should work great.

4 squares BAKER'S Unsweetened Baking Chocolate (I usually use a better quality baking chocolate)
3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flour
1 cup coarsely chopped Pecans or walnuts or omit

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Spray a 13x9-inch baking pan with non-stick spray or butter pan.
MICROWAVE chocolate and butter in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Stir in sugar. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add flour and pecans; mix well. Spread into prepared pan.
BAKE 30 to 35 min. or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out with fudgy crumbs. (Do not overbake.) Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into squares. Store in tightly covered container at room temperature.

Oh that is an awesome product!

Luckily my DH likes the inside and I like the edges, so when we make a pan.... I eat the outside and he eats the inside! LOL

Thanks for the heads up about needing to make a double batch when using a standard store-bought mix.

Geez I wish our schedule wasn't so hectic this week and next. I really want to try those yummy recipes and break in my pan! And thanks for your recipe miss_sonja! It seems super easy. A bunch of my recipes asks for cocoa which I don't always have on hand while I do usually keep baking chocolate on hand.
