I am making a mom gift for a future momma of 2 (twins) she is having a boy and a girl. I wanted to include letters about breastfeeding and nocirc, but I wanted print outs of course, then I will do a separate note with links she can visit for breastfeeding support. I want a breastfeeding print out that will make a big impact and will lead her to visit the recommended links... thanks!

(im crossposting with cac forums)

I see that you're in Davie, FL. The soon to be new mama wouldn't happen to live in Miami, would she? I know a couple expecting boy/girl twins there.

oh wow, probably! She is the PE teacher of my daughter's school (Catholic School) I don't know where she lives... Do you know her? My husband is a teacher there too, so every time I see her we talk about our bellies and compare lol

I am weaving a headband for the girl and crocheting a beanie hat for the boy, and will include the pamphlets w/ some organic baby products. I showed my husband the pamphlets and he gave me a nice smile of approval. PHEWWWW!!!! LOL!

I included this pamphlet, another one about nursing twins, also the Catholics Against Circ pamphlet, how to care for a un-circ penis and the function of the foreskin & circ myths. I am really excited about giving this to her, I really hope she appreciates the info.

OMG! Small world! She's my SIL. Her dh is my brother.

I'm knitting baby blankets for both the babes, plus hats and booties if I have enough time. And of course I'm sending them their first Red Socks shirts.

I had emailed Jen info about circ but she never emailed me back. It's made me a bit nervous and apprehensive about bringing it up with her again, to be honest. She does know that my ds is intact. I need to talk to my brother about it.

As far as breastfeeding goes, I know she's planning on bfing the first 3 months. My brother wants her to nurse longer and tried to talk our mom into pushing her to nurse longer but she refused. I hope that seeing me nurse my babes past a year has normalized it for her some and that once she starts she'll just continue.

I can't get over that you're putting this stuff together for her. That's great!

lmaooooo!!!!! O-M-G!!!!! that's just too funny!!! well, I am sure the breastfeeding issue will come either between her and me or my husband. I breastfed my first 9 mo and my second 2 years. I am planning to bf this one longer probably 3 years. This is too funny!!!!

she looks so good for having twins, I look BIGGER than her and I have 3 more months to go : now she is petite so I take that as an excuse

omg I hope she breastfeeds more than 3 months!!!!! but we'll see... Hopefully the pamphlet I made will make her decide to nurse a bit longer...

btw I am going tomorow my husband and his class are doing a skit about childbirth and they want me to go lol!!!! must be funny so I am sure i'll see her! would you mind if I tell her I 'met' you?

Fortunately my mom bfed all my sibs and I so my brother thinks that's the norm. Although I remember visiting them the week of dd's 1st birthday and they thought it was a bit weird I was still nursing. She ended up weaning 2 months before her 4th birthday and ds weaned just this past December at 29 months. I'm hoping Jen will realize nursing is a squillion times easier than getting up and making bottles!

Go ahead and tell her you talked to me here. I thought about giving her a link to MDC but figured it was a bit too, um, not mainstream for her. Oh, she does look great, doesn't she? Poor thing is miserable what with not being used to being over 100 lbs and the twins constantly moving around. Have fun at the skit!

Oh, you might want to remove her last name from your post, though. Just to protect their privacy. Thanks!

done!

that's great about your mom breastfed you all. I think my mom only bfed me for a few weeks but when I became a mother I thought I should breastfeed my babies longer than 6 months. I read so much about it, so I was fairly educated about breastfeeding longer than 6 months it was a good choice! I regret so much that i only bfed my first for 9 months only, so I bfed longer with my second

Everybody (including my friends) used to tell me how wrong that was I would laugh at them (literally!) and they know how attached my daughters are with me because we are very AP. My kids are so well behaved in public in compared to my friends', coincidence?

Anyways, I will pm u tomorrow but if I don't see her, I'll let you know how it went with the gift
