how to remove applique from an iron

So i am in the process of making adorable onesies for my son with scrap fabric and iron on adhesive paper. While ironing on the rubber duck applique, i realized that i had ironed the applique onto the iron!!! Im pretty upset since this iron is new and i havent got a clue how to get this sticky stuff off. I peeled the fabric off while it was still warm but now i have a glue rubber duck shape stuck to my new iron How oh how do i remove this?!

Hmm...I'll have to try the salt thing. I got some applique adhesive on my iron when I was making some tees for the boys last week.

I posted about this a while back. Dryer sheet! It works better than the salt. Let the iron get warm and scrub it with a dryer sheet. HTH!
